B&Q C&C cubes
The hu-parents were in B&Q yesterday, and as she always does Humum had a wander up the storage bit to see if they had any C&C cubes. Amazingly, they did have one box. Even better, they were on offer so she paid* £15.98 instead of the usual £22.98
If anyone wants any, it might be worth checking your local store. She wonders if they are intending to discontinue them completely (which is silly - they were talking to one of the staff in the Preston branch a while ago and apparently they sell like nobody's business). She's thinking of going to the Preston branch later and seeing if they have any. Even with postage she'll be able to sell them on a lot cheaper than the £40-odd people are asking on eBay.
This is the box you need to look for:
*well, Hudad paid that for them as she added them to the heap of stuff he was buying

Re: B&Q C&C cubes
We have never used the cubes but we think they are a good idea and have seen some wonderful variations of
bunny pens made from them
That's a great price to

Re: B&Q C&C cubes
They've been so brilliant for us, it took just a few minutes to put a pen up for Taffy, and they store down to nothing when you don't need them. The plastic connectors are a bit rubbish, but they're not intended to be put together and taken apart again so much.
We've cleared Preston out of their entire stock (one box) too

Re: B&Q C&C cubes

Re: B&Q C&C cubes
It depends how high you want to go, normally at least two panels but you could go three. I think each grid is just over a foot, then there is a bit extra for the connectors so a row of five would be almost 6' long - we had a pen made with 8 panels which was 9' long.Amelia66 wrote:how many boxes do you think you need for a good sized pen?
As far as we remember, and looking at the picture on the box, there are 23 panels per box.
We'd recommend two boxes, as that gives you a bit of flexibility to make a bigger pen, or an odd shape if you need to, and / or to put levels in it. Or if you can get these ones, buy them while they are cheap - we have made gates out of them for across doorways and a couple of bits to go round corners Layla was particularly fond of chewing.
We think we own about eight boxes
This is the giant 9' x 3' two-storey pen that Giz and I had - it took about 3 boxes worth of panels.

Re: B&Q C&C cubes
They tend to be among the storage stuff - the shelving units and things rather than plastic crates. They can be a bit hard to spot if they are laying flat on the shelf. Show a member of staff the piccie I posted

When we get our woodwork corners repaired we are going to use the panels as corner protectors and to place in front of some TV cables too.

Re: B&Q C&C cubes
That's bonkers, they were so popular you struggled to get them
They'll reappear in a few months with a different label and double the price

Re: B&Q C&C cubes
Thats a fab price.
Im always looking for them in my local store, not that I need any, theyre just really useful! Unfortunately, they havent had any for some time now - probably a good thing though, Id have paid full price, and they would probably never come out of the box!! I did the same with a cheap playpen I found on Facebook - just because theyre useful.

Re: B&Q C&C cubes
Bah humbug, when I was endlessly searching for something appropriate for Nibbler I couldn't find these cubes ANYWHERE, except for an extortionate price on ebay. Do you reckon there may be some left??

Re: B&Q C&C cubes
Try your local B&Q, I reckon they have pulled them all out of the darkest corners of the store room. We have never found boxes in two different branches on the same day before

Re: B&Q C&C cubes
I reckon that's because they only have one box in each county and they play pass the parcel overnight
