bertie limping :(
Bertie is limping he's been doing it intermittently for a few weeks now, sometimes so slight it's barely noticeable. And, in true cat style he is brilliant at hiding it!
Feeling quite guilty as I think it leads back to the car accident and we didn't realise. And I'm not well enough to get him to the vet

Re: bertie limping :(
Could it be a touch of arthritis or rheumatism do you think as it's very cold just lately and I'm really suffering with knees and back at the moment due to cold and I wonder if Bertie is to.
Plus I think when they have had car accident's they are more prone to get arthritis in the bones after. One of my lovely x boyfriends went to kick me in the face once and I put my hands over my face to shield it and he broke one of my fingers and I have arthritis in that finger now and it's a real aching pain but it's only with real cold weather like this. Maybe Bertie is the same.
Hope he will be ok xxx

Re: bertie limping :(
I thought about arthritis, but he's only 3. Of course, we don't know what he went through before we took him in. I've been wondering about a slight soft tissue injury that he's aggravating now and then - like the other day we saw him and gizmo competing over a mouse, and after he came in the limp was there.
I don't think it's urgent, hopefully I'll be well enough to negotiate stairs soon so we can get him to the vet - it takes 2 to round him up!

Re: bertie limping :(
SJ limps after he was in an accident and left with an untreated broken paw (before I took him in) U can tell he had a broken paw because of the way it has fused together but he limps and he has no use of this paw at all much.

Re: bertie limping :(
I'm inclined to think soft tissue injury too - I'm pretty sure the vet would have picked up on anything else after his accident, and soft tissue injuries can be a nightmare to heal (especially for a cat who won't sit still).
I think if he is feeling well enough to go after mices, you shouldn't beat yourself up if he can't be got to the vet for a few days

Loads of vibes for Bertie. I keep thinking Paddy is limping too - but then he looks fine Maybe it is due to the variable temperatures we are having.

Re: bertie limping :(
I reckon it'll end up like, when you have an intermittent rattle or something on your car, and it mysteriously disappears every time you have it in the garage!
It obviously isn't upsetting him too much as he's just so happy and content!

Re: bertie limping :(
We're having bertie-boy to the vet tomorrow, regardless of how I feel. The limp is more pronounced now, bless him.
I'm getting a lot of Bertie snuggles at the moment, he's very sweet <3

Re: bertie limping :(
The vet thinks soft tissue injury that'll go away with rest. So we're trying to get him to rest! He has a few days of painkillers, and if it doesn't get better in a few days he's got to have a scan or something,.
I just saw a badly injured cat in our street. Tried to get the poor thing, but I couldn't. Hope it gets help soon I feel awful.
