Introducing.......
Cherry's new friend Bluebell.
She has been the hardest addition I have ever had, because of what's happening with Leah. I brought her home yesterday, and I couldn't enjoy her, I felt guilty for bonding with her when Leah was so bad in another room. But today I'm forcing myself to start bonding with her.
This is the hammy that I was asked to take on from a surprise litter, I said yes then went into total denial about it! In the meantime my trio went to my robo-expert friend and she told me that she thought Cherry was missing having a friend. Since I separated the girls, Cherry has been constantly attention seeking, and just wanting interaction. So I knew it had to be done, but it was absolute rubbish timing. They were bonded at my robo-expert friends when I went to pick up the trio, and Cherry took to her straight away. It was love at first sight
They stayed over night in a small cage borrowed from my friend, then this morning were transferred into their cleaned, scrubbed, boiled pink cage (which was Leah and Cherrys, then just Cherrys). Last night Cherry was really scrabbling at the sides of the cage, so I had to give them two flying saucers. Bluebell hadn't seen one before but was thrilled. I had them in my room overnight, and at 2am I turned on the light to see Cherry sat on one and Bluebell sat on the other.
They took the move into the pink cage well, by having a sniff about and then going back to sleep! Cherry has been out a couple of times during the day, and Bluebell has been out twice. They are absolutely adorable together, Cherry is smitten with her new friend. After separating Leah and Cherry, Cherry had been very slow to settle, but even overnight Cherry has chilled out a bit, and is enjoying snuggling up to sleep with her new friend.
I'd be lying if I said I was happy with Bluebell, I'm struggling like mad. I know it was the right thing to do for Cherry, but my heart says differently, but that is because of Leah being so ill and I feel guilty loving Bluebell when Leah is so sick.
But I do have two very happy agouti robo girls. Bluebell (named by my robo-expert friend, I'd have called her Kiki) is five weeks old, and was part of a surprise litter of three pups, who came from two rescued "girls"
We can see you hiding Bluebell!!! !
We can see you there too Bluebell!!!
Where's your new friend Cherry?
Here she is. I love her

Re: Introducing.......
She's so diddy, which at the moment means I can easily tell them apart. I may struggle as Bluebell grows! Cherry is a small robo too, so Bluebell could get bigger than her!
Thanks for understanding guys I'm having to lie to both my robo-expert friend and Bluebells mums owner saying how thrilled I am with her, I'm thrilled that Cherry is happy but at the moment that's as far as it will go. When I brought Theodore home I was so excited, but with Bluebell I didn't have that. Seeing the two of them together though is so sweet.

Re: Introducing.......
Oh they are so beautiful and cute
I'd love to be a little hamster and come and live with you as they have a lovely cage with all sorts to play on and it always look's so clean,
if we hadn't so much to look after I would love some hamsters.

Re: Introducing.......
Aren't they sweet! Don't feel guilty Carla. you are doing what they term 'preparatory grief'. It is normal. Your heart will open for this new little one that you and Cherry need!
