Snakey Question Empty Snakey Question

Post by gentl Sat May 18, 2013 5:53 pm

I've got a question about the indoor snakeys like Sparky's warren has. I think I have mentioned that we are in the process of coming up with a concept for a C & C habitat for Rory and his upcoming wifeybun and we are considering a snakey element. What is the diameter of the snakey? If used on an enclosed incline passage, what is the maximum angle it can be and the bunny still be able to go up and down it w/o sliding? Di they stay fairly clean or do they get that glazey opaque look?

Thank you in advance for you kindly response to my questions. Very Happy

If you can get hold of some drainage pipe (off the back of a lorry perhaps) then it is ridged so provides extra grip. I think it is around 15-20cm diameter.

Our snakey is industrial air ducting - thick, flexible plastic pipe with a coil of thick wire embedded in it. The good thing is, it has grip from the ridges. Dougal can go up it when it is vertical. Seriously Shocked

The downside is that it does get quite mucky outdoors and the ridges inside hold the muck. It might stay a lot cleaner with buns who never get muddy feet though. And Poppy has pooped all along hers No

Our snakeys are 6" diameter (I went imperial for the Americans in the audience Wink ) and Layla weighs around 3.5kg and can get her fat bum along it.

Humum never gets tired of seeing buns go through it, especially Gizmo and Cindy's bit which goes over the quad's run on a bridge Laughing Laughing Laughing
