This is Goldilocks who is a Labrador x Collie and she has been aged at about 14-15 years old. She was picked up as stray in Croydon, Surrey and found raiding a bin. She was clearly an ex-breeding *****.

See photos of her when she arrived here;

She came to us in April 2013 and as you can see from the first pictures, was very underweight.
She also had Demodectic and Sarcoptic Mange, two large mammary tumours and a third mammary tumour that had ruptured and was oozing infection.
She had fatty lumps all over her and had very bad teeth.
Because of her condition she could not be operated on straight away as she was too weak to undergo an anesthetic.
Although she was started on a course of antibiotics, within a short time of being with us (about two weeks) she showed signs of a Pyometra (infection of the womb). This meant her having to undergo an emergency spay because otherwise she would have died even though she wasn't really healthy enough to be operated on. The first operation she had, she was spayed, had the largest mammary tumour removed and also had the ruptured tumour removed.
We agreed to continue improving her condition and she would then have to have a second operation, which was done about a month later.
Her second operation meant the removal of the last smaller mammary tumour, all of the fatty lumps around her body, she had a full dental, plus her microchip and her first vaccinations.
Throughout the whole ordeal she remained a cheeky and happy girl and has gained weight steadily and is now at her ideal size.

She now has no known health problems.

Goldilocks is now ready for rehoming so we are now looking for a retirement home for her.

Goldilocks lives well with other sociable dogs and has no reaction to cats or small caged animals.
She could live with older children of 10 years +. The kids in the family would need to be well behaved though as she is not the sort of dog who appreciates being bounced around - she just wants to take things easy!

Goldilocks loves her walks and does and easily does a good 45 minute walk every day. She is slow, but has good recall, good eyesight and good hearing.

Being that she is an older dog she does have the occasional accident in the house, but she will always attempt to get outside and this is only if she is caught short!

Goldilocks will need a secure garden with fence heights of 4 foot all the way round.
She cannot manage any steep hilled gardens and cannot manage stairs (garden steps are fine), so a house with access directly into the home without having to climb up stairs is essential. She would suit living in a bungalow perfectly!

A homecheck will apply and an adoption fee of whatever you can afford is applicable.
