Vibes for my girlie, please?
I mentioned a few days ago that Willow had a sticky bum, and it's not going away
She's had very few pellets, no veg and possibly one or two Fenugreek Crunchies and a couple of pinches of dried herbs since it started. It's got to be coming up for at least five days now since it started, with no improvements despite her "dry diet".
In herself she's 100% normal, active, eating, drinking and her usual behaviour. She's also doing normal, formed poops alongside these sticky ones, so she's just over-producing cecals basically.
Pro-C's not helping! I'm at a loss.
I got a text from the vet to say she's due a wormer. I don't normally worm routinely but wondering if this might be worth it this time around. Also, I did wonder whether she's just not coping well with the heat. Their room is cool and she's got plenty of shade, but it is VERY hot here at the moment. Although, this did start before it got so warm...
I have some left over Fibreplex from when Mo had a bad tum. Thinking of using this as a last resort before a vet visit, which I'm reluctant to do as she IS well in herself and they stress her so much. Yay or nay?
I'd appreciate some vibes for her, hoppers

Re: Vibes for my girlie, please?
I'd say yes to fibreplex, no to wormer. Giving a med now whilst her digestive system isn't working properly could make things worse. The fibreplex also had probiotics in it. As it is persisting I would really recommend a vet trip to rule out anything more concerning.

Ok Cheryl, I'll give her some of the Fibreplex and see if she picks up over the next couple of days.
Thanks for the advice

I gave Thumper fibreplex on and off for months.
I hope she's ok.

Re: Vibes for my girlie, please?
Are you sure they are actually caecals, and not a soft version of the normal poo? Are they the bunch-of-grape shape of ceacals?
Have you had a really good look at their poops for any visible sign of worms?
Are you able to judge how much she is drinking?
I'm not thinking of anything in particular, just throwing a few questions out there to see if it leads us anywhere.....
Loads and loads of vibes for Willow

Re: Vibes for my girlie, please?
Hi guys
Willow seems a lot better today after some Fibreplex before bed and again this morning. I have another to hopefully give her another dose tonight and in the morning, and hopefully it will have sorted her out
There are still a few soft poops about, but these are significantly less. Sparky, they were "bunch of grape" poops
I feel so awful. Every time I go in they give me "the eyes". They've not had pellets or veg for days! It's torture!

Re: Vibes for my girlie, please?
There's still a few dodgy poops about...
It's so difficult as she is absolutely fine in herself and doing really nice, golden ones alongside the horrible sticky ones. What are the most common reasons buns over-produce cecals?

Re: Vibes for my girlie, please?
Im glad she has picked up. Marley has had this problem a few times. Some of the reasons why it was happening to Marley was too much veg, too many excel pellets and the few episodes where they broke into the treat tubs

Re: Vibes for my girlie, please?
Thank you guys
We had to pop in to the vets yesterday to deal with some stuff with the dogs, and I had a word with my vet about Willow and she said as long as she is eating, drinking and fine in herself she's not too worried for the moment. She put it down to likely being to do with the heat and just told me to keep an eye on her back end (obviously) due to the higher risk of Flystrike with messy bums.
She's actually a lot better today

Re: Vibes for my girlie, please?
It is indeed, Cheryl
I can tell she's feeling better, as I saw a food ball in two halfs on the floor this morning, and a guilty looking Willow close by. I think she's protesting at the lack of pellets
Do you think I should start to re-introduce the pellets now? Or wait a few days?

Re: Vibes for my girlie, please?
If her poo is normal again then I can't see that a slow reintroduction of pellets being an issue.
