Did anyone else know that bins can only breathe through their noses? I had never really given how other animals breathe much thought before - aparts from whales and the like.

Humum was aware of this due to those of us who have had respiratory problems. Poor Molly was mouth-breathing quite badly the week they were battling to save her life, and Humum promised she'd never let me get to that state
She didn't know why though, so finding out it is so they can still smell what is around them while eating was interesting.
Humum has really learnt a lot this year in particular from reducing pellets, increasing hay intake and forage and scatter feeding rather than bowl feeding (when the ground is dry the outdoor buns get their pellets thrown across their runs). We definitely have a colony of far happier, healthier and more active buns.

Yep, read up on this in a rabbit book and some sources online. 1 of the first things I learnt.
