Dougal is so clever
So Hudad last night did Dougals evening feed, he went in with the shot glass of his pellets and knelt down and started to get him to go into his carrier on command. At first he tapped on it saying Dougal in the box and he did not take long to lick it up. Now he only has to point at it and says carrier instead so that he differentiates words for items. He says "hop up on the stool and points to it and he does it, then he does same to his knee and says " hop upon my knee and then points to the carrier and says go in the carrier and he is picking it up so fast. He just learns so quickly, each time he does it he gets some of his pellets. We are training him for when he becomes a proper house rabbit as we still cannot pick him up yet so if we can command him to go into the carrier etc this will make things easier whilst we are working on the picking up slowly. I cannot beleive he has been doing this only 3 times and he is doing it . He is so cute though cos when you walk into his room he gets into his box but we do not treat him unless he does on command so he knows, he looks at me with those cute eyes as if to say well I did it, where is my treat? .
Once everything is bunny proof and we have got him neutered we will let him have the full house and teach him more and more. I think he is going to do well with things like this and this helps get around the handling situation for a bit too and stuff and makes it easier to get him ready in the carrier for vet trips.
I still cannot get over how good he is though, he is well behaved apart from odd moments but he really is a little sweetheart, cheeky, gorgeous and hilarious but great for his age.
I really need to start putting some more photos on here soon, just been so ill lately and busy but as soon as I get chance to sort through the photos I will post a lot up for you all.

You are lucky! Our. Rory doesn't seem as bright but he was a rescue and we are still working through his issues. We have got to get his litter box issue solved.

Re: Dougal is so clever
Rory will learn, he is a rescue as you say so it will probably take a bit longer but he will get the hang of the litter tray.
Katie. They are just toying with you.

I think if you have the patience and persevere it's surprising what you can teach a rabbit to do.
Katie does the ironing, Koko hoovers for me, Jamie does all the washing and Kenzo will mow the lawn, Angora Jess and Sox often pop to Tesco's for us and Surrey Simon is good at weeding and Big Bazza makes a good mug of tea!
