Junior has a sore paw :(
The little monkey jumped out of my arms this morning and now his paw is sore. He landed on vet bed so it wasn't an uber nasty landing.
He is walking on it and is jumping over things as usual but when he's standing still he is holding it up in the air (It is his front right paw.) I've tried to have a look at it but he just hops off and heel flicks at me. I will have a better look with OH later but from what I did see there's no blood.
Tbh, I'm inclined not to charge him straight down to the vet. He's such a sensitive little guy that I want to hold off a bit and see if it gets any better itself. Obviously I won't leave it ages!
Am I being a bad bunny mummy??

Re: Junior has a sore paw :(
No, it's completely appropriate. If he is weight bearing when he wants to move it seems unlikely that he has broken anything. And if he is moving around he cannot be in too much pain. I would just keep an eye. The vet would most likely just give some metacam.

Re: Junior has a sore paw :(
No I agree with Cheryl. Plus, if he has damaged it, the metacam will only allow him to put more weight on it, and give it less chance to heal properly on its own See how he goes, bless him. Boys will be boys. I always imagine him as a cartoon bunny with denim dungarees and a baseball cap on back to front and a sling shot in his back pocket ... have you seen Dennis?...thats how I imagine junior

Personally I think Sparky put the idea of a limp in Junior's head.

Re: Junior has a sore paw :(
I would think he may have bruised it or pulled something but I bet he's walking on it tomorrow ok. Simon tried to jump over the pen side ( silly Simon) on Tuesday night and started holding his paw up, Mike checked him and nothing seemed broken and Wednesday morning he was smashing

Re: Junior has a sore paw :(
I'm sorry for not updating sooner
Junior spent a few days holding his paw up but on Friday morning he let me touch it when he was eating his breakfast
He's now completely back to normal!
Thank you for prompting me to update

Re: Junior has a sore paw :(
He obviously lived in hope of lots of extra treats as a consequence of having a poorly paw. I anticipate an outbreak of 'sore paws' now!
