Vibes for Simon please/ Blockage/ Ud/photos Thursday p5

Simon has not been well all night he has been panting and look's very uncomfortable we don't think it's a blockage as he has done some droppings but even thought he has had meds he is no better and seems in considerable pain. We did think it was a tummy ache but it has carried on to long now and so we feel we have no other option than to take him down to the emergency vet's.

He had a big dental Op on Friday and he doesn't seem to have got better since then which makes me wonder if he as an infection in his mouth which has caused an upset tummy. Whatever he is just not right at all

Update 1:05am

Mike has just rang me from outside the emergency vet's Simon's blood glucose levels have gone up to 26 and they are now doing x-rays. I have a feeling this is a blockage, but God I hope it's not.

It's a blockage!    

They are operating on him now and I really don't know if he will get through this it's a big op for a little bun

It's 2:57am and Mike is still there at the vet's, I know he won't leave without Simon and will want to bring him home as he will sit up and check him throughout the night. I've made an indoor cage up for him and I'm just waiting now and trying to stay awake. Just made myself a coffee but I am very worried  

Update 4:49am

Mike has just got home with Simon. The vet could only get so much out of Simon's tummy he said there was still some in that he couldn't reach and so Mike is going to take Simon to see Honor tomorrow.

At the moment he is a very poorly boy and we are just hoping he will fight, but he's been through so much already a big dental op and now this  

It's not great at the Tuckerbunnies Warren at the moment  

Oh no, poor Simon .

I bet you guys haven't had a wink of sleep either.

Come on little Surrey Simon. Hes a small bun Maysie, but knowing nethies, they put up a as good a fight as the biggest bunnies. Small and mighty they are! Lots of vibes for him. xxxxxxxxxx

Update 9:28 am

Mike has taken Simon to see Honor plus Simon's x-rays and print out from last night. You can see on the x-ray that his tummy is filled with gas. We are just worried about the fact the emergency vet couldn't get all the blockage out and said to Mike shall I put him to sleep or sew him up  

The look of him I really don't think he could cope with another op and so it's all a bit of a worry.

Don't know how Mike is still standing as he has never stopped. I am just about to cancel my hairdressers appointment as I feel so ill and I'm so tired.

Will keep you updated.

I really hope Honor can work her Magic Maysie.

Honor has done another x-ray on Simon and he is not blocked now everything is moving through but he is still gassy he's going to need lots of TLC and meds round the clock.

To think that the emergency vet wanted to put him to sleep  

Surrey Simon has now gone from the £1,000 bunny ( as that's how much it cost us remember to get him home from Surrey after Mikes car died in Luton)  

He is now the £2,000 bunny as it's cost us another £1,000 altogether for the emergency vet last night and today's vet visit ( with discount)  

But he's worth it

I am sending lots of prayers, love and cuddles and so hope the little chap is going to beOK. This kind of stress for bunny mums and dads is the worst; I have made myself ill before now love when rworrying about a little one. We are with you in spirit and you know where we are if you need to talk.

Mikes managed to get a nap in this afternoon Katie and he feels better for that but he looks very tired.

Simon has been eating some hay and dried herbs but he is very sore so not moving much. He's had some meds and it's a case of just keeping him comfortable, giving him his meds round the clock and hoping he will work with us and not give up, he has a long way to go yet.  

Glad he is nibbling Maysie.... at least its a start and a good sign
You will be syringe feeding Mike at this rate.... I bet he is shattered  
I dont know how either of you manage on the little sleep you get
Hopefully you will get some rest tonight

He's doing just fine  

He's passed some droppings  

He has been nibbling hay  

and I did him a small dish of fresh herbs and he went straight up to it and started eating  

He even shared his metacam with me by giving me a big kiss just after he had it.....lovely!   

He is a very special wee man

What brilliant news!! Am so pleased!!
