WHEN AM I GOING TO GET A BREAK?!?!?
Who'd have known two fluffy, cute animals could cause a person so much stress?!
First of all I've had all the worry with Mojo, and then just as he starts to settle in (he's continuing to do so, by the way), him and Willow start bickering. Willow is constantly chasing him - and she literally hounds him - then starts humping and grunting at him. She bites him (hasn't broken the skin yet, he's got a lot of hair to protect him!) and is constantly urine spraying and pooping everywhere. I'm not too worried for Mojo because when he really has had enough of her he will throw a good lunge at her and she does back off. I imagine she's coming into season...
So that's a pain in the bum, and I'm also worried that Willow might be a bit incontinent. Her tail is often very wet and her bum is really stained. She often leaves little "puddles" or "trickles" behind her. I gave her a bottom bath at the weekend which was not enjoyed at all(!), but has helped.
They're off to the vets next Monday for a whole do-over - Mojo's getting his quarterly shave, both are getting vaccinated and claw clipped (they're overdue as Willow fell poorly the day before this was supposed to happen), and I'm going to get the vet to give Willow a really thorough once over, and both of them a general MOT, as I'm just not convinced my Willow is ever going to be a particularly well bunny, and I want to know any available treatments for her, or ongoing ways of helping her. So that's another month of being broke thanks to vets bills. I might as well move in there!
I'm really sorry for the ranty post - I just needed to vent. I'll let you guys know what the vet tells us.
It's a good job they're cuties, eh?

Re: WHEN AM I GOING TO GET A BREAK?!?!?
Firstly im really really chuffed to hear that Mojo is settling hunni
I do know exactly what you mean though...sometimes you feel like there is a constant stream of bun related stress with one thing or another.
Like you say though.....you cant help but love them all the more.
I really hope that there is nothing wrong with Willow hunni. I am wondering if the bad mood and the urine are linked. Im wondering if maybe she has a painful UTI that could be making her grumpy?

Re: WHEN AM I GOING TO GET A BREAK?!?!?
I think that you need to investigate the wet tail as that doesn't seem to be something normal. She may have a urine inflammation as KatieB has suggested. Either way, you need to get that sorted out as female rabbits don't spray and are usually very very clean.
Also female rabbits are not like dogs and cats when they come into season. Rabbits are subscribe to the martini philosophy - anytime, anyplace, anywhere!

Re: WHEN AM I GOING TO GET A BREAK?!?!?
Im sorry youre having a hard time with them at the moment, who'd have thought such little creatures would cause us so much stress!? I always think its worse when you feel there is something wrong but cant put your finger on what!
I doubt it is due to Willow coming into season, as buns don't have seasons in the same was dogs do. Domestic buns tend to breed at any time of the year given the opportunity, they just have to be stimulated by the male to release an ovum. It could be due to a urine infection, as Katie has suggested, does she still use the litter tray, or does she often miss? Dolly had this problem for a while, and the vet thought she had EC after looking at her urine, but turns out she didn't, thankfully!
Tons of vibes for all of you, and hopefully you can get some answers soon! xxx

Re: WHEN AM I GOING TO GET A BREAK?!?!?
Oh thanks guys - I've learned something new there!
I have noticed that Wills does have particularly grumpy cycles at certain times of the month though? They normally last for 1-2 days She is laying off of Mo a bit now, as we're in the 3rd day really when it usually calms down.
I'm definitely going to get my vet to check it out. She's actually not had a wet tail since her bum bath over the weekend, and there is less pee about today. I wonder if the pee/trickles around the room were linked to the territorial behaviour?
Either way she'll get a good check over next Monday. She's fine in herself and continues to use her litter tray, so I'm not too concerned and think she'll be able to hold on. Obviously she'll be up to the vets if I notice any deterioration

Re: WHEN AM I GOING TO GET A BREAK?!?!?
oh dear! you're right, they do make us worry at times! lots of vibes for the vet trip on Monday. Mine were all grumpy when they had moults a couple of weeks ago. Now they are all seem a bit down generally (especially Patch though). I think this is because its colder and darker.
Hopefully they will be happy together to be home after the vet

Re: WHEN AM I GOING TO GET A BREAK?!?!?
Thanks Paul
Yes - I hope once they've had a tidy up and MOT they'll be feeling a bit better. They're in for the whole day as well as Mojo has to be sedated for his shave, so hopefully that will help them re-build the bond if they've not done so already by then.

Re: WHEN AM I GOING TO GET A BREAK?!?!?
I hope there is nothing serious wrong and sending many vibes and hugs, at least with being checked out thoroughly it can out your mind at ease and if there is something wrong you can get it sorted out.
