I'm so Proud

My hubby was at work today when someone he works with said they were going to get a bunny for their little daughter (who's about 7!!) and a little 3" hutch to go in the garden.

Well Dave got a bit upset and told them exactly what looking after a rabbit really means. He laid it on quite thick, but all truthful. He explained that our bunnies this year have cost us in exess of £800 in vets bills (even though we did claim most of it back from insurance), Thumper needs dentals every 6-8 weeks, you need two bunnies so they have company, toys & amusements, they need vaccinations, neutering and how quickly they become ill. He also explained about accommodation requirements and need for access to a run for exercise.

Needless to say said colleague quickly changed his mind so that's one less bunny going to an uneducated owner.

He did well.
I have ranted on to people about proper feeding and housing etc and they totally ignore me. They still buy small hutches with little or no run space and feed cheap rabbit food.
