Hi my bunny had eye flush but as not work

She been on antibiotic in water powered and food and inject in her neck 4 month she as had weepy eye    her teeth are good and she. Eating and drinking and veg and hay don't know what Els to do for her vet as said to keep it clean and bath eye when it's wet clean her eye is there any thing Els I can do

Has the vet done an Xray at all?

there are also some antibiotic eye creams that the vet can try.

Did the vet say what is causing it?

Ive just had a thought. Do you use any kind of wood shavings? What kind of Hay does she have?

does the vet know the cause?

if they rule out teeth then i too would think maybe it was a allergy.

how long has it been happening for? is it a recent occurrence or has this happened all her life?

I suspect that my mind went the same way as Katie's: sometimes the teeth roots grow up into the eye area and cause weepy eyes.

Has your vet checked her teeth? If not, this might be a good direction to go in. I know that with chinchillas especially one of the first signs of tooth roots growing upwards is weepy eyes, and their teeth are open-rooted just like bun's.

Make sure the water you are bathing her eye in is sterile (I boil water and leave it to cool before applying it with a clean piece of kitchen roll which will soften when wet)

Hi thank for all tex yes vet look at her teeth when she had her eyes flushed she said they are good but no X-ray that's next step I have to go back with her in ten days as she on antibiotic eye drops I use care fresh for her bedding paper pellet for her wee tray all dust out off it ;)she had block tear ducts ;( left tear duct was block and wright one was good flushed good but left one was hard to flush but vet said that both were flushed ;( not sure as she still as weepy eye

she as timothy hay readigrass veg and timothyhay oxbow pellets and once a week little fruit   

Sounds like it's not an allergy then bless her heart.

Yes she eats all her food and veg and hay and she on xbox timothy hay pellets and she eat all off the so I don't think it's her teeth vets as said to keep eye clean and that she may need flush again if there withe stuff come in from eye but it s just tears from eye so I am keep it clean

Yes she eating good she as oxbow Timothy hay pellets and veg and readigrasss and Timothy hay and she as natures best Devon meadow hay and little fruit once week

She still as weepy eye ;( just don't know what to do vet look at her back teeth when she was under and she said were good all she as said is to keep her eye clean nothing about a X-ray on her teeth she just said to keep here eye clean this as been going on now for 4 months ;(

I wonder if she has an infection behind the eye ? I think an x-ray of her head will be able to tell you more.

We have one that the vet triied to flush his eyes yesterday he is actually blind and they are so blocked she couldn't do them so he will get them done next vet visit.

Are you confident the vet you are using is rabbit savvy?

Ardene House in kingswells are about 1 hour from you in Huntly and are very, very good. I guess it depends how well your bun travels?

I have firsthand experience with them and only stopped using them because they closed down the practice nearest me to concentrate on the animal hospital at kingswells. (I am south of the city.)

Has she actually had a head x-ray, as several people have suggested?

The vet can look at the surface of her teeth in her mouth, but not the roots.

No vet said that she just look at her teeth she never said anything about X-ray ;(

I would ask for one.
