Floppy Rabbit Syndrome
Does anybody know about floppy rabbit syndrome one of my daughters rabbits got it a few years ago the vet managed to save the bunn but 2 weeks later it was back and this time was fatal. Poor little Toffee was fine when I left them last nite no sine of anything she was bouncing about and eating with Fudge and Dandy. This morning she couldnt use her legs at all they just wouldnt carry her weight at all and her whole body seemed to be floping I have read that nobody seems to know what causes it but possible genetic link to inbreading and a deficency to viamin E. But if anyone does know any more I would like to find out

Re: Floppy Rabbit Syndrome
I haven't heard very much about FBS for quite some time - but I think the diagnosis of the causes of symptoms have become better. To be honest Rob I would suspect e.c. in Toffee's case and treat your other buns accordingly with panacur. The symptoms of being off their legs is now known to be linked with spinal cord damage caused by lesions in either E.C. or pasturella, e.c. being the more common source.
