Gimli - stunning dwarf hamster we had before Dougal
So here is the sweetest best hamster in the world. Our baby and very much missed Russian dwarfie Gimli. He was a sweet little , one of a kind, rare hammie as he was not like one at all. He was gentle, he would take the tiniest seeds that slipped into the cracks of your fingers when eating from your hand so gently, he never bit and he he always wanted attention and was just a softy and a kind soul. Ste loved him to bits too, he really was not like any hamster I have had before or seen since. Sadly he got cancer at almost 3 years old ( very good age for a dwaf hammie) and had to be pts. I was heart broken. Well here are some photos and you will see why me and ste where in love with our littl mini boy.
My favourite photo of him , just look at those eyes and that face .
Gim in his plant pot style hidey pot.
He loved climbing in his tub of where his food was stored and packing his pouches, he looked like Michilin hamster when he finished or on steroids .
His favourtie cookie- shrimp, he said nom nom nom!
He loved climbing in this massive mug and he looked so cute and tiny, I put food in so he could nom away
Climbing onto my hand, he used to wave his tiny paws at me for attention for me to hold him and let him run on the floor
In his bus carrier in his cage, I put it in for him to play in, he loved it.
Hi mum, can you give me some love and attention.
He was the only hammie in the world who actually went back into his cage without trying to catch him, he loved being in them as he had a kingdom. 15 cages total and tubes on them too connecting etc, will try and find a photo of them if I can. I always changed something too, swapped cages around, tubes, toys etc every week I cleaned him ou, which took hours.
Hope you liked the photos. .

Aww! Too cute!!
I had heaps of (Syrian) hamsters when I was younger and they were brilliant pets! I would still keep hamsters now if they lived longer. I couldn't take the all too frequent heart ache any more!

Oh he is lovely What a fantastic life he had.
My daughter has a Russian hamster, Millie which she adopted from PAH from the unwanted area. Millie is very nippy when she is in her cage (which is huge) but is fine with us when she is being held. I suspect she was returned or not sold because she is very territorial in her cage.
She is a very pretty wee thing, has a 'go faster stripe' on her back and has a very strong character for such a tiny creature. I love her tiny paws and beady eyes. She spent a few days with us over Easter and will be coming back again when Louise is on holiday in July.
Paddy cat however, without seeing her arrive, knew she was in the house and kept up a vigil outside the spare bedroom door Needless to say he was not allowed any access to the room.
