Guinness Goes To The Vet/UD 6/24 Tues

Monday morning our Guinness was whisked off to the vet after a long bout of sneezing.  The vet didn't think it was snuffles but we are giving him anti-b shots every other day for a total of 4 shots.  He tolerates the shots like a champ.  We'll see if the sneezing goes away with the shots.

Guinness weighed in at 2.7 lbs.  Vet says he looks very healthy.  He charmed the vet and flirted with all the staff.  He's just a very sociable little fellow.  They couldn't get over how his fur felt like a dense, soft velvet.

Our little man eats as much hay as a horse!  Well, perhaps a pony.  He's eaten about 48 ozs in 2 weeks. He's eaten more than half his weight in hay in 2 weeks!  He's still not too big on treats.

Today was his first day out in the living and dining rooms.  It was wonderful to see him binky!  Right now we cannot find him!  He's so tiny and dark.  He'll turn up when he hears his greens container open.  We love our little guy!  

He sounds like he is the best medicine :-)

I hope he is ok Holly and the abx sorts out his sneezing.

Ah, yes. The marking continues. We just put a water proof pad on my shoulder and tell him to keep his tail down. Had a tense moment when he sat on my shoulder in the living room this evening but he was a good boy. He climbed up on a series of things and managed to get 5 ft offer the ground. We had some tense moments. Here must be part mountain goat.

Our Keegan was like that for a long time and we did and tried everything and then one day at the vet's the vet said 'hang on what's that' and got some tweezers and pulled out the longest piece of hay I had ever seen from out of his nose. Although it hadn't been seen before all the sneezing must have moved it.

I do hope they can sort it out for you Holly and I'm so glad you got it as you are good for one another, happy Humans and Happy bunny

Guess who has snuffles now! ME! It does jump SPECIES. Has anyone had this happen to them? It has hitnme hard. Breathing treatments, oxygen @ 4 lpm and oral meds. I hope I don't reinfect Guinness.

I'm not sure whether we can infect them or they us???  

I did some googling, and it seems some strains of Pasturella can be zoonotic, but to what extent I dont know...i couldnt read them properly as my brain just isnt switched on enough to break it all down.

We are both on anti-b's now. Guinness is all better now and climbing to new heights daily. I think he is part mountain goat. Sweet saw him leap on to the dresser last night. Thankfully he hasn't figured out he can jump the .gate and run free in the house when we cannot supervise. It's far shorter a distance than the dresser top.

I am glad he is so much better hun. We don't care as much about ourselves do we, as long as our babies are fit and healthy LOL?

Guinness is all sneezy again.  Not sneezing fires but occasionally snotty sounding nose.  He's seen the best 2 bunny docs within 100+ miles.  He'll go back this week unless they will just let us buy the med. He's getting expensive!  Sweet little guy.
