Lily comes home tomorrow....

Following losing Flopsy early last thursday morning    Lily was then left without her beloved husbun of 3 years and 2 months.  
We decided that we would give a trio bond a go as it would make things a lot easier for me and they would all have the full setup - which would be amazing!

So we went to see Mairwen at Cottontails on Sunday evening with Lily and Pickle & Pixie. Much to our surprise, Lily was very confident despite being in unfamiliar surroundings and started bossing poor Pickle & Pixie about    Poor Pixie was really freaked by the whole experience, she was cowering    Lily then went for Pickle, luckily there wasn't much retaliation from him, a little while later Lily then went to Pixie and they ended up in a scuffle. We decided to abort the bonding, it could of worked but in the long term there would of been the risk of poor Pixie being left out. She is quite a shy bunny anyway, bless her.

We then made the assumption that Lily would need a submissive and laidback neutered male to try with given her confidence and naughtiness. So our plan was to come back in a week or two once the bunnies from the waiting list had come in. She only had one neutered male for match up, I suggested trying Lily with him so then we can rule him out for when we next go. Much to our surprise, it went well! He was very humpy though and Lily was submissive and allowed him to mount her. She has never experienced mounting as Flopsy never did it to her, she was boss.  

As I am busy with college and had no neutral bonding pen awaiting, we decided it would be best to leave Lily there along with 'Nibbles' who will soon be renamed - for sure! We will be collecting them both tomorrow morning, well I unfortunately can't but my dad is. I have college all day tomorrow

Cottontails is one of my favourite rescues, lot's of useful information on their website and Mairwen Guard really knows her stuff when it comes to rabbits.

He is a lovely little boy xxx
