Blood patch Empty Blood patch

Post by JoeyBunsMum Thu Feb 19, 2015 1:16 am

I noticed a patch of red out the corner of my eye yesterday and on closer inspection looked to me like blood pale

Contacted the vet today and emailed her the photo. She reckoned it didn't look like bloody wee but more like blood from his sore hocks (pics below). Any views?

I'm still a bit disturbed about seeing it and obviously still worried even though the vet said it didn't look like wee.

Could he have caught a claw?

do the hocks look to you like they have been bleeding?

A claw was my first thought too but there would have been a lot more blood I think. It would seem more likely to have come from a hock.

I'm just thinking, the only way I can see that much coming from a sore hock is if he knocked a scab or something? Has he obviously done that? xx

What ever it is, I do hope the little love is better soon. Holly shed a claw a little while ago and there was some blood, so this may well be the cause.

It is difficult to see how much blood it is. Bertie once pulled his claw off, right off and it bleed profoundly . This was due of no mistake by him but stupid humum had a fluffy rug in the lounge and he caught himself in it. Got shuffed to the vet and they put a Victorian collar on him to stop licking. He got so stressed that when I picked him up he s...t all over me in loose stools. Now there you learned a lesson. The collar came of, he got some treats and it all healed perfectly. Hoomins can be daft!

The picture's not completely clear but it does look like a bit of scab has come off that hock? I think it would only take a teeny bit of blood to spread out onto that sheet and make a stain that size. I think the vet's right that it's too bloody and not watery enough to be wee.

Loads of vibes for my secret boyfriend Love Love Love

Possibly. I don't know of you guys can make out the pictures of his hocks very well, but they look worse than normal Hmmm
