How are they getting through my mosquito net????? I've found a few in their room!!

The weirdest thing happened the night before last, though. I was so confused by it (still am!) that OH looked at my face when I got back downstairs and said "are you ok??"

I went into their room with them and noticed a moth on the net, but it was on the OTHER SIDE of the net, which I thought was great because then I could just blow it out the wide open window.

So I blew at it.

And it flew right at my face?! scratch Suspect

Invincibility cloak, perhaps?!

There is no hole in that net.

I've been questioning my sanity all weekend ROFL ROFL ROFL

Do you have a book about moths? There are so many species and some it is really hard to tell topside from bottom.
They are fascinating creatures. I will often sit up in bed with the light on, the window open and my moth book beside me waiting to see what visits.
Did you know a male moth can scent a female SEVEN miles away?
I think my favourites are the Ermine moth, the Elephant Hawk moth and the rather sinister Deaths-head Hawk moth.

I've got one of them sticky things in my kitchen and all I EVER catch are small flies and moths! The big, problem flies don't go near them scratch

Seems pointless having it! We don't get many of the it flies anyway but on the rare occasion one comes in, that thing is useless!

I used to be scared of them as a child and well into my teens, then I decided to learn a bit about them and they soon won me over. After all they are just night flying butterflies.
Some are very beautiful and unfortunately many are becoming increasingly rare, even endangered.
Summer nights used to be full of moths, now their numbers are falling year after year; I've always noted down which species visit me and numbers are down year after year.

I adore moths and plan to breed some next year.  One of the most enjoyable moments of my life was holding an Atlas moth for about 20 minutes, she just sat on me really happy, I will never forget it and would love to be able to do it again. Not sure what to say love, I think every animal has his or her touch of magic. Very Happy
