I can't be the only hopper
Who feels like they've permanently got hay stuck under their skin???
There's a bit stuck in my thumb and I can't get it out!! The usual story!!

Re: I can't be the only hopper
Of course you are not. I got a tiny whiny bit in the palm of my right hand since a couple of days.
Oh and where else do you find hay!
Car? Yes
Airing cupboard? Yes

Re: I can't be the only hopper
I have found hay in more personal places I have to admit love, panties, bra etc and it just manages to be everywhere. I suppose it doesn't help that we have the guinea pigs in the sitting room, on the floor in their pen and we have two boxes for Holly, so it comes as no surprise LOL! I hope you get the piece of hay out love, I should imagine that was painful.

Re: I can't be the only hopper
I was sealing an envelope a few weeks ago and licked an oat seed onto the flap!
Must stop snogging Henners! (That was a joke by the way ... I only kiss the tips of his ears.)

Re: I can't be the only hopper
Holly nuzzles me and licks my nose. We are having each room cleaned from top to bottom but the hay dust will soon be everywhere again. I think it is something we bunny lovers just have to accept if we want to keep our babies.

Re: I can't be the only hopper
I used to kiss Clawed's mouth, once there was even tongues involved (purely by accident) and somehow to kiss another bun on the mouth doesn't seem right .... Clawed was my rabbit soul mate.

hi again Thumper not been on for a while we still have Jaz and fudge and of cause Daisy the GP we have the 2 cats who seem to share the bunnies hutch with them then we have Bonnie & Clyde the 2 Embden Geese who are a laugh a minuet when your not being chased by them. I have just leased the field next to our house its around five acres quite a few wild bunns in there but going to put 12 hens in to start with they will have full run of the field and when funds allow I am going to put two or three alpackers in just hope I can remember all there names

Re: I can't be the only hopper
yes theres only me that can go into the garden with them unfortunatly last week around 4.15pm so it was still light a fox got hold of Bonnie luckily I was in my office which looks out over the garden I could hear Clyde shreiking when I saw what was happening I ran down the garden and gave the fox a headache and managed to save Bonnie she had a nasty wound bellow her tail feathers but they both quite nervouse in the garden now. It must have been a young fox to be out before dark but it looks like going to have to get some electric mesh now

Re: I can't be the only hopper
Hey Ruffin!
How wonderful to hear from you!
Sounds like you have a wonderful little family there! I love geese, I can't look at them without a smile! How scary with the fox though!
How are the buns doing? Lovely to hear Daisy is still in on all the action too!
Sending nose/beak rubs to all!!

Re: I can't be the only hopper
Hi just Jaz and Fudge now but they are great going to build them a new hutch over the next couple of weeks Jaz has looked over the blueprints and made a few alterations mainly to do with eating and fudge not happy about having to wear a hard hat and high viz vest whilst the works are ongoing. Daisy is as daft as ever. Think I may look for a couple of lionheads or cross lionheads next year but for now got a lot going on

Hi Ruffin
, good to see you back and what a menagerie you' ve got. Geese are very good in defending but it sounds a electric fence is needed.

Re: I can't be the only hopper
It's dispersal time for young foxes (and young owls as well) so these sort of attacks can be quite common. The vixen will have taught the cubs to hunt small food, mice and rabbits, but a goose would be a bit much for an adolescent fox. But, word of warning, that fox will remember where they are and if you have hens it will find them an easy lunch. Electric fencing will not be much use unless you get it at least five foot high ... I've seen a fox clear over four feet.

Re: I can't be the only hopper
My neighbour used electric fencing for the chickens and was fine, then weaned her self in safety and left it off over daytime. 10 of 13 chicken killed on a afternoon .
