Lean, mean hoppin' machine
He's had his six month check up today; claws clipped, ears checked, toothsies checked, etc. etc. and Richard said how well muscled and in what good condition he's in .... He's still his favourite lean, mean hopping machine!
That's the sort of vet visit I enjoy.
Is £6 for that good value?

Re: Lean, mean hoppin' machine
Thought it was good. The vets at the last practice I used charged £28 for that lot.... it came as big shock to go in for a health check/nail trim and be charged that when the previous year at that practice, under the old vets, it had all be free.
But £6 is fine by me.
Yes, he is fine but tonight his eye did its thing and he looks like Molly. It really puzzles us why he does this. Fine for a few weeks then... suddenly he as a wet day. It's weird and no one seems to have a clue why it happens.
Tonight he's had a great time as I've changed the hay in the big (seed) tray in the sitting room and put all new in it so he's chomping happily on 6 different hays. The old stuff that's left after he's sorted out what he wants usually gets strewn in an old dutch barn for the wildies to enjoy.

Re: Lean, mean hoppin' machine
Nail trims are free at mines 😀
But the health checks are £28 😕
I was thinking about the £99 for lifetime vaccinations and 2 health checks a year
Xxx

Re: Lean, mean hoppin' machine
I don't think I've heard of the £99 deal. Do you use one of those practices in a chain? My vet is a private small animal practice, as are most of the vets in this area.

Re: Lean, mean hoppin' machine
Yes we do, we got a voucher when we got soundwave and the vet was very rabbit knowledgeable so we stayed. We don't have a lot of vets around here, there are two more., when my first rabbit got sick one didn't have a clue (never want to deal with them again) and the other was really good but not a small animal specialist.

Re: Lean, mean hoppin' machine
Great news for you, bun and your purse honey, we get charged about £20 and that is seeing the nurse, not a vet. I am so glad he is still as fit as a fiddle love him.

Re: Lean, mean hoppin' machine
Oh, he's himself all right ... he got his own back on me for hauling him off to the vets. I got up this morning and my dining room AND my sitting room looked like a hurricane had hit. Hay EVERYWHERE including on the lap top, think he must have hopped on my chair with a mouthful and laid on the lappie with the one intent of MAKING A STATEMENT! Well, message received.... ya, grey git!

Re: Lean, mean hoppin' machine
Yes Jo. And as I mentioned in anther post (about poorly Daisy) I only took the little blighter because I'd had a few worries about him being quiet.... guess he decided to show me just how quiet he could be. He's a right bunkey!

Gemma: He'd been planning (quiet) for about a week or ten days so I dread to think what he was hatching.
