Excited!

Realy excited this evening

A decision has been made to look for a partner for Dillon

We were going to wait until we had refurbished the run, but that isn't going to get done now until next spring, and poor Dillon is so lonely on his own now. He makes the most of it, has established himself in his own right now that he doesnt have Tia any more, but he needs a queen.  

So, this evening, i did some window shopping on the rescues FB page, and left a message explaining i was an experienced owner with a soppy, quiet laid back neutered buck looking for the hardest to home bunny they had....  
i got a message back saying the one i mentioned had just been reserved, but there was another who was very timid, has been in rescue since Jan due to her shyness so she maybe the bunny for us.

The manager is going to ring me tomorrow (Sun) to discuss it further and see where we go from there

Great news!
Just spoken to the rescue centre manager and she recommends a Bun called Roxy who is very timid having come in from a welfare case where 96 rabbits were all in a barn together, males females all breeding and fighting among themselves and left to get on with it.  
She has been in rescue for over a year and at the centre now since January and due to her past history has been very upset by other rabbits, but since she has been moved to a pen where she can see other buns but not directly threatened by them she has started to calm down.
She sounds just the perfect bunny for us, she will have her own hutch to start, and she and Dillon will get to see each other and take turns in the run until she feels brave enough to meet him with the barriers down.
We are hopefully going to see her and bring her home next Saturday   cant wait!

Aww she's lovely, what a sweet little girl

she looks adorable, so pretty and sweet.
I cant wait to have her here, i shall be telling Dillon all about her this week, he'll love her. Only draw back for him to start will be the separate rooms - he'll just have to keep it in his trousers for a bit longer !

I've told Dillon about her, and he wanted to know why she isnt here yet

I want to get her sooner, but our car is in the garage at the moment, and i need the week to get the spare hutch ready and have to get a couple of bowls for her too...

I will need to think of a name for her though, as my other half refuses to have a Roxy , as his local night club in his younger days was called The Roxy... too many memories he says haha!

Oh wow, she is gorgeous hun.  Grey bunnies are quite unusual and they are always stunning.

Apparently she has been a very sought after bunny due to her stunning looks, but when people hear about her temperament and that she needs time and patience to bring her round they loose interest

I just cant wait to spend time with her

Imagine how you will feel when she eventually comes round and grows to love you.  I can entirely understand why you are giving her home.  We will want regular updates though.

I have told hubby today i need some sort of stand for the spare hutch, doesn't have to be high, just not at ground level so i can see her and talk to her without standing on my head, so thats a job for today.

Still trying to think what to name her, i usually go with Greek or Egyptian names for my animals. Dillon is Tor really, just nicknamed Dillon. Before Dillon i had Tia, Teo and Aphrodite. Teo was victim of a fox attack soon after i got her, and Aphrodite just dropped dead about 3 years ago, for no apparent reason. She was vaccinated, and had no apparent health problems and no signs of distress when i found her.... Previous to those three i had Nefertiti (psycho rabbit), and Cleopatra and Cleos partner Baltazar.... so who's next? lol

I am tempted, due to Dillon being a magic roundabout character (although should be spelt Dylan) to call her Florence.. really dont know, i guess i will need to meet her properly first, as i did think of Hercules for Dillon until i met him then there was no way he was ever going to be a Hercules LOL!

Any ideas or suggestions anyone?

Oooh im liking both of those, good ideas.

This has also led me to find a great site on Greek mythology, one i haven't seen before that has a very comprehensive list of names and who they were.

I'm also liking Antheia and Athena... have to keep telling myself, patience, she isnt here yet, wait until you meet her but i cant help it, i'm so excited

She is beautiful. Some dutch lady in there I think which could mean a very lively, clever girl. I love dutch rabbits.
Of your name choices I like Athena. The poets always described her as having grey eyes, very bright eyes. Plus, she would have her own song: Athena by The Who.
Or what about Hemera, the goddess of the day?
