my practice only has two vets and two nurses and are rabbit savvy with a rabbit specialist nurse.
If I wanted an appointment about anything that the two pink gang have already been seen they would book me in with the same vet which I like saves explaining it all again.

Hi there Hun,

I'm sorry to hear your bun is so poorly.

I agree with the others about the abx and the loxicom.  The baytril almost certainly isn't the right abx and I suspect you don't have the right dose of loxicom either.

There are a lot of vets who just don't know much about bunnies.  And finding one who does is vital.

How much does he weigh hunni and where snouts in the country are you?

The vet friend got back to me:
' It does sound like a resp infection to be fair and that is the general treatment.does take a few days to kick in so does need to wait a bit. Needs to
- Check the secretions are drying out
- Is she drinking
- Any other rabbits + are they showing signs too
- is she eating on her own
- Is she producing hard and soft poos?'

He's still to get back if he knows any vets up your way.
Hope that helped

It's good that he has eaten a little, that's encouraging. He may eat more if you withhold from syringe feeding him. If you are getting anxious he will probably pick up on that too, so make a point of doing something to take your mind off him. Remember to that the Baytril and Loxicom may not agree with his tummy.

Thank you all for the comments this is the first time I have had a bunny get ill so am probably way over reacting lol. He has currently been let loose on my house... but since he is ill he's not doing much chewing... he's had some more food, a clean round his bum since he hasn't been cleaning himself and now is chilling.

We have a member on Aberdeen and one in Elgin (which I know is a way from you). I'll find out if they can recommend a really good vet in your area xx

Here's me Very Happy

Hi Wave Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear your bun is unwell. I'm Aberdeenshire South and can thoroughly recommend Ian Anderson at Robson Vets. They have a few surgeries.

If you're further north, let me know and I'll have a think! If you'd rather not be more specific about where you are, feel free to private message me Smile

Good to hear Tiny is eating more.
And it's not just those of us experiencing a very poorly bun for the first time that go a bit OTT. I spent Nov/Dec going spare over Henry and I've had three other buns before him who all had very bad bouts of illness. It's natural to worry over sick loved ones.
As he finished his meds now. I can't help but wonder if they were a contributing factor to his not eating.
