Bad Bunnies!
i have two little bunnies on the naughty step tonight!
Bed time this evening, started off well when Dillon went straight in and started on his nuggies.
Arte however refused to go in and kept running round and round the run, under the hutch which they have to squeeze under and only way i can get them out is to go round the back of the run and poke little bunny bottoms with a broom handle through the fence.....
Madam then stamped her feet at me as she ran out, in turn upsetting Dillon who came shooting out of the hutch with his lop ears as far up and forward as they will go sitting bolt upright with a 'WTF was that!?' look on his face! Then deciding all was well, went back in to continue with his nuggies leaving Madam to continue her round and round the rabbit run routine.
However, as she continued Dillon decided maybe he was missing out on some fun and decided to join in, round the run, under hutch, round the run under hutch...
Eventually i managed to catch Dillon who got shoved very unceremoniously into the spare hutch while i spent another 20 mins trying to get Arte in!
Needless to say, under hutch privileges are now to be revoked!

Re: Bad Bunnies!
Holly always does a circuit before she will go to bed and when I had three bunnies, they used to lead me a right dance at bedtime,. Only very occasionally did they all go straight away.

Re: Bad Bunnies!
Spoil sport indeed! Huh!
Last night was even worse, no under hutch privileges so just 20 mins round and round the run in circles!! Because there is an island in the middle it just became a wet muddy slippery race track where neither of them would go in, and both just ran round together and even had my hubby out there with me trying to get them in!!
Tonight was ok, thankfully tonight they were both good and went in.

Sorry hunny but I just had this mental image of you going around and around in circles. I am glad they were good bunnies for you tonight.

in between the annoyance and frustration at how futile it was chasing them round in circles i did almost see how funny it might have been from the outside Jo....
Re: Bad Bunnies!
Try playing them at their own game and ignore them. Pop their food in the hutch, stand well away and wait and watch...
Or... you could just enjoy them .... BAD BUNNIES ARE THE BEST!

i love a bit of spirit in my buns, it adds to the pleasure and fun of having them live with me... but... when its cold, and getting dark is not the time for round and round the garden!
That said, i havnt managed to block the under hutch off properly yet, and tonight they were both under the hutch, so i put food in, and walked off to go round the other side to look for and do some poking. As i walked away Dillon came out to see what i was doing, then hopped in to start eating his nuggies, followed by Arte who did the same
Re: Bad Bunnies!
Maybe a bit of a "couldn't care less" approach then. Make the moves but act like your mind is elsewhere.
When Henry gets in his favourite hidey spot, amongst the shoes under the chest of drawers in the utility room, I do the usual calling then put off the lights one by one as I go back to the sitting room. I just leave the sitting room door open a crack and within a couple or three minutes he's pushing it wide open and racing round the room so excited at our reunion and to be back in out of the cold and dark. You'd think he'd spent a years banishment in Siberia.

Re: Bad Bunnies!
That made me laugh at Henry's reaction.
Yes i think starting a little earlier and a more casual approach perhaps may work. Dillon is very needy and hates to think he is being ignored or missing out on anything.
Arte is curious, and wants to be brave enough to be friends, and will follow Dillon a lot of the time.

Re: Bad Bunnies!
That is lovely hun, he obviously adores you. I had a bun like that Freecycle love, where if he thought he was being ignored would play holy hell with the carpet (we had carpet then) and furniture. Holly is just naughty with furniture and bedding.

Re: Bad Bunnies!
I don't really know what Holly is trying to achieve but if there is anything on the bed which she considers shouldn't be there, she will throw it off. It is our Burrow though, where we both sleep at night so I think she considers certain things just don't belong there LOL!!

Re: Bad Bunnies!
Henry has become a tipper!
He seems to want to tip over his clean litter tray the moment I put it down and then tip it again when it's dirty.... and he has discovered that a gentle tip to his nugget bowl scatters them back into the middle of the bowl when they are playing hard to get round the edges.

Re: Bad Bunnies!
Least he got the sense to work out how to get all his nuggets, soundwave would still be trying to get them a week later lol
Miranda was bashing soundwaves head this morning with one of the veggie bowls by flinging it about lol (thank god it plastic) got them a big one to share that they can't tip lol (they certainly are trying to tip it)

Re: Bad Bunnies!
Smart....? I nearly died laughing at him last night.
You know I sleep an the floor these nights? Henry has his litter tray about two feet away from my pillow and I've now replaced his conventional tray with one of those big green seed trays. He loves this seed tray and sometimes takes a nap in it and last night as I was lying watching him gobbling up a great mouth full of Deans meadow hay (the really fine stuff) he decided to flop in the tray.... Well he went down with his face in a heap of megazorb that he had dug up earlier. It wasn't quite what he expected as he spun over and leapt into the air looking like some weird kind of rabbit ghost with all the 'zorb clinging to his silver fur.
I burst out laughing and couldn't stop because he just sat beside his tray glaring at me.... he didn't like being laughed at! His expression made the whole thing funnier.
