Annabelle
My Princess Girl.
Today we collected your ashes and the pain of losing you came flooding back.
We miss you more than you will ever know.
Your beautiful smiley kind little face is still everywhere we look. Each time I look in the garden, every morning and night when I go to the medicine box, every morning when I open the shed I expect to see you there smiling back at me.
4 years ago, christmas day I went to volunteer at the Bunny sanctuary. There you and charlie were in a small run snuggled up together. There were over 50 bunnies there, but instantly I saw you I knew you were the buns for me, you both stole my heart in that instant. So I went home and Matt said no, and then no again, but on New Years Eve I made him come and see you, and you instantly stole his heart too. Operation Bunny Shed commenced and we built your shed and run on top of Matt's veggie patch. Then on the 27th January, you and Charlie came to live with us.
We loved you deeply from the moment you arrived, you were so pleased with your new home I was sure you were smiling.
Later that year we discovered you were having seizures and had heart disease and a crumbling spine, but we didnt care did we Annie - we loved you all the more, you never minded being grabbed and plonked on the kitchen side twice a day for your medicine, you were always so sweet natured about it. I loved those little moments twice a day when I got to have you in my arms and force a cuddle on you, telling you that I loved you and you took that all on the chin too!
Of course we joked that you were a bun of little brain, as nothing bothered you, everything was taken in your stride and you were always happy. We joked that if you were a human you would be a glamour model, all looks and not a lot going on upstairs, apart from a whole load of sweetness and love.
Charlie was your world though, you adored him with all your heart and he adored you. He misses you so much.
You loved nothing better than a thinking you were stealing.
Goodness me you loved your food, and would eat constantly. One of your favourite pastimes would be waiting underneath the pear tree for pears to drop and this always made me smile. You'd often steal food straight from Charlies mouth, and he always let you do it.
You used to sleep like you had been shot, sometimes I think even charlie used to worry if you were still breathing.
You hated being inside, it was the only time you looked grumpy :-)
You filled up our lives my princess schmoo and you've left everlasting paw prints on our hearts.
Goodnight my Angel Girl, I hope you are waiting for Charlie underneath the sweetest pear tree you ever did see.

Re: Annabelle
Aww What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful bunny - inside and out.
I remember you meeting them, I remember the shed build, I remember them coming home. It feels like it was just yesterday but at the same time it feels like so long ago.
I love all the pics. And I totally see what you mean about Annie looking grumpy inside I've never seen a pic of grumpy Annie before!
The way she slept just goes to show how comfortable she was in her surroundings. Not a care in the world
Sleep well, beautiful girl. You were taken far too soon and will be very much missed xxx
for your hoomins and a nose run for Charlie xx

Re: Annabelle
They are beautiful photos of your very special girl and a wonderful tribute to her. I know how hard it must have been to write. Annie had a wonderful home with you and Matt and her beloved Charlie, she couldn't have needed or wanted more. I am so sorry that she didn't have longer with you but I am so glad I got to meet her, a real sweetheart.
Enjoy the sun and the pears beautiful Annie xx
