What do you all do with the waste from your buns litter trays?
Henry as a tray lined with newspaper with a layer of megazorb on top and a pile of eating hay in one corner. I usually remove the clean hay and put the soiled megazorb and newspaper in my black bin,
What do you do?

Holly has two plastic dog baskets filled with hay and they are changed every day. We use newspaper for a base.

Newspaper base megazorb or wood pellets topped by stew and hay.
Hay straw and litter onto the compost heaps. Newspaper in black bin

i have outdoor buns, on newspaper and shavings. when i clean out, if the shavings are soggy enough (some patches are) it goes in the compost, if its dry dirty, ie full of dry poos, it will go in the landfill waste bin. If they are dry, clean but stale, then they go on the ground outside the hutch to walk on as it gets so wet in winter. Stale hay will usually go in the compost, and newspaper in the landfill bin too. Sometimes straight in the bin, others in a bag first. but apparently all our non recycling waste is incinerated now

Thanks everyone. I just felt having newspaper in my black bags (in the landfill bin) might be a bit naughty in the refuse collects eyes but they wouldn't want paper smelling of buck-bunny pee.

Ours goes in the general waste bin Sad

If I had a garden waste bin I'd chance my luck putting it in there. Unfortunately we don't have them in my neck of the woods Rolling Eyes

There are green bins (garden waste) here but it costs £25 for the "season" to have them emptied and they come fortnightly which means the green waste bags are already biodegrading by the time they come.
I have the wood so I don't bother with garden waste. Bunny papers can't go in the wood with the garden stuff though.

It's good that they do the recycling and have all the different bins but there are so many of them I have lost the entire garden bit at side of house because of them

We take ours to the tip, because our bins our so small and collections are not often, annoyingly given its all biodegradable they wont let us put it in recycling.

Ours get emptied into the compost bin if they've hit it enough to for it to be wet. If they've managed to get it over the side numerous times, the litter trays (along with the semi-used bedding around the litter tray) go in the black bin as it takes much longer to degrade.

I usually find that if I don't have any loose bedding around the litter tray, they hit it more. But one of our current fosters is an interior designer, so the litter tray often ends up getting buried in straw relocated from the bedroom area and the boundaries are blurred!
