Who sulks? Empty Who sulks?

Post by woodwench Thu Sep 08, 2016 9:47 am

Got up this morning with a busy time ahead of me (shopping day). Went to draw the curtains and let the morning in and Henry was in one of "those" moods. Into everything. I love it when he's like this, it makes me happy and I try to make the most of every hell-raising moment for I don't know when it will be the last. So we had a game of tickle-the-bunnies-tummy-while-he-binkies then I gave him a fenugreek chruncher to be going on with while I went out to gather some forage for his breakfast, he loves it all fresh with dew!
Delivered his brekkie and sighed as I watched him tucking in ... it's so good to see him in a good spell after a couple of weeks of coaxing him to eat
.
I changed my shoes and socks, putting on my new Sketchers that he attacked last week. But I was sure he wouldn't notice this time as he was so busy sorting out his favourite bits of forage and I was going to have by own brekkie sat at my desk, checking my emails, so my feet would be out of sight.

After 25 years with rabbits you'd think I'd know better by now.... He got me just when I was sitting down! Before I had my feet out of sight and before I knew he was there, and he grabbed for the top of my sock and nipped through it and fetched blood on my ankle. It was a sharp nip and I yelped in pain and surprise. Then guess what...
He sulked! HE SULKED!! I was bleeding and he sulked!
Darned rabbit.

Tonight he's been dragginh hay out of his litter tray and strewing it all over the room.
I think when he's been on a downer period and not doing much except sleep and eat he goes all out to make up for lost time when he feels brighter. He's certainly been a sod today.

I would love to see him binkying and having his tummy stroked, it sounds adorable, Sometimes I don't think they realise how hard they can bite and draw blood without realising it. I certainly felt that too love, it must have been very painful and what a naughty boy for sulking. I am glad he is active and eating again hunni and thank you for the updates.

He's off again this morning. I've just hoovered round and he's demolished a grass ball ... not in one spot, no, he had to keep shifting it around the sitting room. And he's just tossed his bowl of dried herbs across the room ... wonderful little b*gg*r!

He's quiet again today, hope it's just because it's been dark and raining all day. He still sent me out in the downpour to forage and I got soaked and chilled to the bone despite wearing a waterproof. He never said Thank You, didn't even get a nudge!

The weather affects all of us honey and as it has been miserable, maybe he is a little less active. I know, sometimes they are naughty in not saying their "Thank yous" aren't they? Very Happy

When I used to tell Vince off ( which wasn't often) he would have this 'told off face', ears down, body turned to one side and peering at me from the corner of his eyes! Funny little thing, I miss his told off face.

Funny how they all take a telling-off differently. Loll used to just b*gg*er off and do something "terribly important" and ignore me. Clawed used to look so very, very hurt ... and Henry sulks!

Bubbles will stamp her feet and...sulk.maybe she and henners are closely related?
Dillon hops away and gives me evil eye
Vernon I don't know never needed to tell him off. Hasn't got front teeth tho that might have to do with it.lol

Well, I say telling off, but it was more of a stern 'no' if he was chewing my shoes or being a bit mean to some bun else. These bunnies could get away with murder! Far more than my kids get away with lol!!

Paul says I have thoroughly spoiled Holly which is why she takes no notice of me. I know he is right because I can never be cross with her. If daddy shouts however, she does listen. Very Happy

Henry never took notice of "No". I think he had heard it too often at his first home and knew nothing would come of it.
However he soon behaves if I yell "Oi!" and whistle between my teeth. It always stops him. I don't know if it's the yell or the whistle that does it and I won't stop doing either to find out ... why mend what aint broke?

Jetfire knows no commands but she has learned when we want her to go to bed so it looks as though we herd her in.
Soundwave knows:
no, his name, back up, down, in,

And the one thing I want him to learn is come and he cannae do it lol

Henry knows his name and 45% of the time will respond to it. He also knows to quit whatever he's up to when I yell "Oi" and whistle. He is very good with "Forage", "Dins" and "Brekkie" .... they're all food related as is my tapping out SOS or more often now I call Dit-dit-dit dah-dah-dah dit-dit-dit.
Food is the key!
