UPDATE: Reboot rebooted!
After 8 days he's back where he belongs
Collected Reboot from the vet at 11-00 this morning.
Off meds, eating hay and redigrass and hopefully A1.
All I have to do is wean him off the museli mix back onto Burgess or similar.
Everyone: Keep EVERYTHING crossed that things go well.

Re: UPDATE: Reboot rebooted!
Yes, great.
He is still doing the funny straining thing with his tail up but Anne McBride thinks that's because he's still feeling a bit sore/funny round his bottom after being bloated and unable to poo/wee. His insides, muscles and nerves and such have to recover after 6 days of bloat. He is also very quiet and that's probably due to similar reasons plus he's had 3 GA's in three weeks and he's been on Loxicom for a month, and Cisapride as well and Baytril for nearly three weeks. So in all he's taken a bit of an hammering poor lad. But he's eating, he's pooing and that's GREAT.
I also found he is eating Burgess again. I put a few nuggets in his museli mix when I brought him home and a few hours later I saw they were gone so I put some more in and he scoffed the lot!

Re: UPDATE: Reboot rebooted!
Last night I was quite worried by how quiet he was but when I got up this morning he looked bright enough and was straight into the food dish, then when I reached in to take out his litter tray to swap it for another on he nipped out of the cage and went walkabout. He investigated both dining room and sitting room for about five minutes, decided he was home and that I hadn't changed anything I shouldn't have, hopped back in the cage and resumed his breakfast.
He is eating hay quite well and there were some hayish poops in his tray. And he is drinking from a bottle which I had never offered him before as the rescue told me he always had a dish of water. I bought him a bottle as I thought the novelty of the drinking spout might get him drinking better (he hardly ever touched water in a bowl). When he discovered the bottle yesterday evening it was fantastic the way he kept going back for another drink.
He's back in his cage at the moment, I don't want him overdoing things.

That is great news sweetie, I can imagine how relieved you must be. Yes, you must make sure he paces himself and does not get overtired. Thanks for the updates hunni.

Re: UPDATE: Reboot rebooted!
He's back to his old rat-bag self and maybe more so!
He raced round the room last night like a thing possessed. He has been checking everything out over and over and we've had a couple of tug-o-war fights over the TV mag and he's trying his luck at every bunny scam he can!
Oh, and he's producing poops to die for!

Re: UPDATE: Reboot rebooted!
He'ss been a bit quiet today but he's still eating and pooing well. I think he overdid it on Monday night when he was racing around like a mad think. May be he has upset his leg a bit. He is certainly doing justice to the hay.

I can’t imagine what it would be like trying to contain a rabbit with a broken leg when all they want to do is zoom around. I don’t envy you!

Re: UPDATE: Reboot rebooted!
He's doing it in stages ... recovery I mean. He has been resting over the last few days since his madness of Monday night. He's still been busy investigating mischief but he's also refrained from racing like a moon crazed hare and spent time resting. He is eating very well and his new ambition is to eat every stalk of hay he can find which is a goal I believe he will attain.
It's now almost 6 weeks since he was X-rayed and the fracture discovered and Alex said then it would be 6 to 8 weeks to heal. So he's almost in the clear.
The main worry now is my worrying ... I'm watching him like an over protective mother hen. Mind, if he continues to pull the old "I'm a poorly bunny" routine to get himself out of trouble I shall soon kick his cheeky scut into touch and put him in his place.

Re: UPDATE: Reboot rebooted!
I hope he catches up on his sleep Woodwench love, it is a shame that we can't tell them to take things easy and they listen. If if they feel well, they are off, not thinking about the damage they do. Haha, they can be like kiddies can't they, pretend to be ill and get all the sympathy? Seriously love, I am so pleased to hear that he is eating, pooing and returning to his old self.

Re: UPDATE: Reboot rebooted!
Just spoke to Pet Plan. They have paid out £675-15 on my vet bill of £725-15. GREAT!
Already Reboot is spending it... at the vet on Monday next week for vaccination, micro-chipping, claw trim and general health check.

Haha, I am pleased for you hunni. Yes they are good at spending our money, aren't they? Holly is booked in for her vaccination on Friday together with claws and teeth check. The piggies are going too for theirs.

Re: UPDATE: Reboot rebooted!
Yes jo, havent done one in a wee while they collect animal food donations for the foodbank.
The raffle was animal oxygen masks for local firebrigade, i won science select pellets 10 mini packets. I won some cat stuff so they gave me the nail clips instead. Took me 2 years to use them all lol
