Re: Bens not eating
I’m sure you know all the tricks but sometimes we can forget at times like this.
Have you tried getting him up and moving? See if you can kick start his gut? Or tried to tempt him with some nice green grass?
Banana was always the thing with Molly and Junior. If they wouldn’t eat that, they wouldn’t eat anything.

Re: Bens not eating
I've tried him with grass, dandelion leaves, strawberry leaf, some biscuits. He's not hugely motivated by food at the best of times which doesn't help. He's moved about a bit because it was a battle to get the loxicom into him

Just back from vet, vet couldn't find anything obvious so loxicom, cisapride and fingers crossed.

Re: Bens not eating
I left a few dandelion leaves for him overnight which he seems to have ate but it doesn’t look like he’s eaten anything else and I can’t see any poos anywhere, and he’s refusing anything else I offer him. he wanted outside when j went down and he fought when I was giving him his meds so he’s bright enough. Will give him a few hours but not looking great

Re: Bens not eating
I’m at work and my OH is working from home, apparently he’s started nibbling herbs and some carrot and he’s seen him have a drink too. Also some poos have appeared in the litter tray so sounds like he’s feeling better thank goodness

Re: Bens not eating
After being seemingly fine last night he stopped eating again this morning (JUST as I was about to leave the house for work), I wasn't going to give him meds originally but obv at that point I did and I'll continue with them til they're done. I nipped home at lunch (50 mile round trip :| ) to make sure he was ok and he was thankfully. Still seems well tonight. Wish I knew what was causing it :\

Re: Bens not eating
They’re such a puzzle sometimes aren’t they! It’s so frustrating and worrying.
That’s quite the nip home that is! Hope he’s back to himself by morning.

Re: Bens not eating
He's been fine! Stopped the meds now with no further issues.
Think I know what caused it tho, I had brought him some home some grass from the farm (really long nice grass that I give the horse for a treat). Found out a few days ago the people at the farm have weedkillered it (found out because its all dying, no one told me). I specifically pick from one bit because they never weedkiller it and they know that I pick from it so god knows why they have now, especially without telling it can only have been days after the farmer saw me feeding it to the horse and asking if that was her treat.

Re: Bens not eating
He's been 85% ok... he keeps having spells of not eating/sore tummy but he is ok after some painkillers etc. Touch wood, they seem to be getting less :/

Re: Bens not eating
so he went a while being fine, even managed to teach him to ring a bell (the bunny who wouldn't even nudge a tiny cup to get the biscuits underneath previously)
He had a bad bout of stasis a few weeks back, stopped eating on the friday and took til Monday til he was back to normal.
We are now out the country on hols (back in the very early hours Thursday), phone rang maybe 4am weds morning- he wasn't eating and the boarder was taking him to the out of hours vet. Got painkillers etc. No improvement today so got a referral to the D!ck vet and the boarder kindly took him through. They called me a short while ago, they've found a mass in his kidney area and his blood tests show he's in kidney failure.
They're going to give him fluids and painkillers overnight and see how he is in the morning, but its not looking good.
