Help - Temporary Hutch Cover
Hi all, hope you all well. Sorry not been around - been adjusting to the new school routine over past few weeks and using up my spare time in day to catch up with old friends, so not been on pc that much, for a change!
As the weather is bloody awful tonight, felt really guilty putting old Johnny Nibbles outside. The more open side of his hutch is covered with an old car blanket and towel so that the wind is kept away, but still feel it isn't enough for him. I had to put some more hay down as the other stuff was wet - didn't want him sleeping on wet although I guess they do in the wild :/
Only one place on the internet does a hutch cover for his type of hutch (trixie natura hutch cover, seems a nightmare to find even on net) and they are awaiting new stock - can't seem to find one anywhere! Can anybody recommend something, preferably waterproof that I could use in meantime? It just isn't an option to put him indoors or in our garage - not until we can clear out but as my DH working away til November, it isn't going to get done yet.
Help appreciated!
Thank you xxx

Re: Help - Temporary Hutch Cover
I use tarpaulin, it's £2.99 per sheet from Wilkinsons and I tack it down on top to the hutch itself so it can be folded back. To weight the bottom down you can create a pocket and put a metal pole through it or attach a wooden batton with staples/nails.
When it gets really cold a old duvet can be added underneath for extra ventilation. If you can get a clear plastic covering then it can stay down all the time to keep the inside dry whilst bun is in the hutch.

hiya sooz, thanks, think am going to go out today and have a scout around to find some tarpaulin. would somewhere like homebase sell it, although i imagine it would be expensive from there!
