Re: Look what I've got!
She came to me a boarder about 6 weeks ago and then again 2 weeks later and i noticed her foot was swollen. Turned out it was an abcess and when whe was in surgery for it, another was discovered on the other foot as well. To cut a very long story short, her owner realised she was going to be "high maintenance"(her words ) and asked me if I wanted her. We'd fallen in love with her when she first stayed with us and really worried about her living conditions, and more so when she had to go back there after surgery. So yes..she's ours now along with her ongoing vet bills. Though to be fair, the prev owner has offered to help out with the latest bill which was £408.00.

Re: Look what I've got!
She's such a friendly bunster. Here she is begging for a noserub when Leanne came to visit her on Sunday!
But look at what that loveliness is hiding
The yellow area in the middle is honey.

Re: Look what I've got!
Hi Boblets.
This is Milly, a French lop/british giant cross (we think ), who belonged to a friend. She came here as a boarder and to cut the story short we fell in love with her and her gentle, dog-like ways , though I must confess it was rog who fell the hardest at first(isn't it always..he's the world's champion fosterer failure ) I found what turned out to be an abcess on her foot..and then another so as the vet bills mounted along with her need for nusing care I was asked if I'd like to take her on and the rest is history.
Here she is eating her hay last night. She's confined to the cage on vet's orders but doesn't seem in the least bit bothered. Lying down to eat is her favourite position..always has been, even before the abcesses arrived

Milly is gorgeous. :luv:.
What a lucky bunny she is to have found you and Rog to look after her now.
Her poor foot looks really painful.
Is her pevious owner helping with the vet bills?

Re: Look what I've got!
The first bill she incurred while boarding with me came to £60.00, which the owner paid. The next was for her first operationetc and it came to £312.00 Again met by the owner. However the last bill which was for her 2nd op, further investigations and 5 day hospital stay and nursing came to £408.00 This bill was up to me as she's now my rabbit, however the owner has offered to split the cost with me thank goodness.

Re: Look what I've got!
It is good that previous owner has taken on some of the cost of Milly's treatment.
I am not surprised you fell in love with he, she is just so beautiful.
I do hope she is soon back to full health

Re: Look what I've got!
She is SUCH a gorgeous girl, and I am SO happy that she is with you and Rog permanently now....it would have been a shame to split a bonded pair! (Milly & Rog!!! ). She is certainly in the best place. She looks like SUCH a soppy, cuddley girl! :luv:

Re: Look what I've got!
We've just redone her dressing and there's still pus being produced. It's not soft though..more like hard waxy stuff, and it's very difficult to get out.
