The Fosters are here....UD Montague has just left for BARC

They are gorgeous looking bunnies but we've encountered a problem. They are male & female, so I'm going to have to split them up .

The chinchilla lop looks to be a male with currently retracted testicals and the black & white lionhead cross is a little female. They are both very underweight (all spine and ribs) but have good appetites so I am Panacuring them and feeding them up at the same time. The lop looks to have a few small molar spurs but nothing that is currently causing any problems for him.

The little female is called Matilda but havn't come up for a name for the lop yet. The lop also has an old injury to his ear, half of it is missing .

Can we have non-preggers vibes please....I'm pretty sure she isn't but you never know in these cases. I'm off to split the hutch in two now.

I called Angie to let her know and we are going to play it by ear, we did discuss neutering the female now but she is so thin I don't think a GA is a good idea at the moment.

I'll get some piccies of them on Tuesday when it's light.

I am pleased to report that they are both gaining weight already, Montague who was especially bad has a nice layer of flesh building over his spine which makes petting him a more pleasent experience.

He is super friendly and always waiting at the hutch door for nose rubs and attention.

Matilda is still cautious but comes up to me if I come bearing food. As yet she is showing no signs of pregnancy....and neither of them are showing any other indicators that their condition could be EC related.

Hope she turns out not to be pregnant and they are both as fat as hogs very soon.

Matilda's place at BARC has come up and she is going over to start the next stage in her new life on Saturday....she may already have a home lined up.

This means she & Monty won't be rebonded but as he still has a way to go it seems unfair to keep her here waiting for him to catch up when she could be neutered and settled much sooner.

Good to hear the Matilda is well enough to move on. Hope Monty soon follows.

I've just had a couple out to see Monty who were absolutely lovely, asked loads of questions and really wanted to be sure they were doing the right things. They were smitten with him and he behaved perfectly for them, and they have said they definately want him!

Just need to part him from his plums now and have the bonding arranged.
