Would it be Useful ?

Because I have several Buns with chronic health problems I have often stumbled upon various treatments which appear to have helped. I always discuss things with my Vet first of course !! An example is finding that using the eye drops TIACIL directly into the nasal passages of Buns with recurrent Snuffles appears to help when systemic abx have failed to resolve symptoms.

Would it be useful for me to list the various things I have found helpful in treating different Bunny ailments. Then people could ask their own Vet if it might help their Bunny too. I am not advising anyone to treat a Bun without first consulting a Vet but some of the things I could mention might not be thought of by your Vet.

I think that sounds like an excellent idea. There is only so much theory one can write down but practical experience such as yours, Jane, is a gold mine

Of course I agree that any decision should be run by a vet but sometimes they may not have thought of this etc etc.

It would be really very useful, have them all in one place, but it'll be quite a volumous work Jane, but a very worthwhile contribution...save all that thread searching as well

I think it's a great idea, my vets have always been open to try new ideas if I bring along info - even if it's just a printout of a thread on a forum or something, they'll take it away and research (or in urgent cases, give it a go if I sign a disclaimer form)
Perhaps it could be left open for other people to contribute to, extra opinions and suggestions can only help and if someone else in the country is lucky enough to get a vet willing to try out alternative treatment regimes it can only help to 'broadcast' them too

Would actually like to run the snuffles tiacil past our new vet so having it wrote down will really help.

Jane would it be possible to also write down the more well known treatments that preceded the new idea as some vets will consider the earlier stages to be progressive thinking rather than the norm.

Jane could you please include the Questran treatment because, as you know, that's what saved Willow's life when she very nearly died and more recently Dolly too although the symptoms were recognised earlier ans so the treatment started earlier, many thanks

Thanks to your advice one of our buns is having tiacil applied in her nasal passage starting today and looking into F10 disinfectant in a nebuliser. It will be so handy to have all your experiences in one place.

There is one on common prescription drugs awaiting completion but like Jane life has kept me rather too busy to compile it yet, I still havn't finished the EC article either.
