Keeping them Amused? Boring Hutch
During the winter the buns live between their hutch in the garden and a run we've made with woodchips and a cover (so they keep warm and don't get muddy!) However in my outdoor hutch there is simply a small (only big enough for 1) nest box, a litter tray, a wooden tunnel, a gnaw chain and some bell balls.... Can rabbits eat Kale?
I am really struggling to find something to keep them occupied whilst i'm a work and their in the hutch when it's cold!! i was thinking of putting up some curtain hooks in the roof and hang rope or a food ball!! Does anyone think this would be a good idea??
Also i was thinking about getting some hammocks that i have made for my rats, made big enough for the rabbits and try and put them in! as only 1 can get in the nest box i am worried they'll get cold, although i fill the box and the space next to it with hay it all gets squat! I have seen people on here using cardboard boxes with holes in, which is a great idea so i am going to try that!!! Does anyone else have any other ideas???
Although i have owned rabbits before when i was young i want to do all i can to ensure they are stimulated when i'm at work!! thanks

mine love destroying cardboard boxes. you can hide treats in loo/kitchen roll holders stuffed with hay.

Pretty much anything mine can chew keeps them happy So echoing what others have said, cardboard boxes and toilet paper holders stuffed with hay are perfect for hours of enjoyment! I also put a small square of carpet in Piper's area because she looooves digging at it.

pets at home have some willow ball packs for a fiver and rabbit toy packs for £4 (and guinea pig and hamsters ones) with a big jingle ball, carrot toy, wooden chewy thing and some other stuff.

One toy that my little bunny loves is an old rubber washing up liquid ball for washing machines.
I just cleaned it all out and made sure it was bunny proof. Now I put his favourite berries and fruits inside with hay stuffed on top. He loves to pick it up, throw it around and roll it to get treats out.
Hours of fun!
