I truly don't think there really is a rabbit involved and think it will be some sick person's idea of a joke. However, I have gone to the website provider and put in a complaint and pasted the link in so they can see for themselves. Will be interesting to see if they do anything.

I really dont know if there is a real rabbit involved but an identical site was set up by the same people a year or so ago called savetoby.com There was a real rabbit involved in that as he was somehow rehomed (I hope I understand this correctly!) but it is NOT clear if the threats were genuine or a joke. I gathered this from the savetoby.com site we found which is identical to savehoppy.

We got this from godaddy:

This is what came back. There seems to be a whole load of these Save **** sites.

I'm sorry if I've caused people distress over this, I didn't mean to. I didn't know where to go with reporting it etc so thought someone might be able to help.

You have nothing to reproach yourself over, you've brought something to our attention that is happening in a different country and yet we still maybe able to do something to prevent it. If you had done nothing, then nothing would have been done.

It always worth putting up a *warning distressing* note in the title, so that people who may not want to be distressed that day can opt out, but really, proactivity of this nature is great I'm sure we all feel pretty powerless at these situations

I recall a similar incident happening to this one in the last couple of years which was proved to be a hoax in the end. I can't remember any details, just a vague recollection

I very much doubt this is for real.

There was. It was exactly the same layout only the name of the rabbit was different. It was word for word identical to this one.

Personally I'd just try to forget it. These people are clearly after attention and publicity (I notice the only way you can 'vote' for Hoppy is pasting their silly badges onto your own website) and it makes me quite angry that they would prey on people's consciences like this!!!
