Bonding/ UD Sprayed in the face!:(
Sorry if this is in the wrong section guys
I need some bonding help This weekend we are going to be bonding Hattie with Nomad from BARC. My question centres on where we should bond them.
When we bonded Lola and Alfie we put them in our ensuite, then the bathroom then their own room. However Hattie and Nomad are outdoor bunsters. We have been keeping Hattie in a large folding dog run in the conservatory whilst we built a new run and hutch combo for the bond. This is the coldest room in the house. For the bond we have a couple of options
1. Use the same spaces we used with Alfie and Lola (baring in mind they will be in their room across the 'small' landing. We would be able to see/hear them whilst sleeping etc.
2. Use the downstairs loo then move to the dog run we have in the conservatory (fully cleaned of course)
All ideas/thoughts more than welcome. Even though we have done this before i'm more nervous this time. Hattie's quite the character and possibly partially deaf

Iv always been told nuetral territory, as you already know. Im not really very clued up on the bonding process, but hopefully will be trying to bond an old netherland dwarf nuetered buck and a harliquin doe [if it is a doe] in a few weeks time. So im going to be reading up on this thread lots =]
PS Sorry I wasnt any help lol x

I would use step 2. but start the bond in a carrier first for a couple of hours and just move it around the house with you....it can disperse a lot of the potential hostility that can be present at the start of a bond before it has the opportunity to arise.
Good Luck

Re: Bonding/ UD Sprayed in the face!:(
i took mine for a drive in their carrier which helps bonding and it makes them a bit worried and look to each other for comfort and be busy thinking about what is going on rather than who is that strange rabbit next to them. you need someone with you incase anything happens or i did it on my own but round quiet lanes so if i needed to stop suddenley i could.

well...things are going quite well. Nomad looovvveeesss Hattie (and shows her quite a lot too ) 10 mins after meeting he did a happy flop on her head and started grooming her. We have had lots of humping from both of them but fingers crossed it's going well

We had a relatively quiet night (i slept downstairs just in case i was needed with my water spray) Hattie did a big happy flop last night too so i'm taking it as a good sign Nomad is truly adorable, naughty but adorable :luv:

They look lovely. I love Nomad's white belly when the rest of him is black. So cute. Hope it keeps going as well and they just fall in love.

well they were just doing a bit of chasing and Hattie humped Nomad's head. As i peered over the gate he full of sprayed me in the face I've had to towel dry Hattie as it was running down her face...what a typical boy :lol!:
