Post by Snowy Sat Feb 14, 2009 10:12 pm

For those of you who didn't see the thread, I thought I would post the pictures here, this is a rescue I did on Friday night, 2 x 7 month old male kittens and 1 x 18 month old male bunny, all the animals were hungry and all need medical treatment, the bunny has lost a big chunk out of his ear and is covered in scabs, his testicles have bite marks on them too! Shocked , the cats have gunky eyes and worms, all the animals are starving and so are being fed little and often, none of them had food or water

They have settled in well, the cats are still eating everything in site Rolling Eyes but are terrified of hoomins!, the bunny is doing OK although he is not keen on people either and hates being picked up Shocked he has developed a 'runny bum' overnight so will have to keep an eye on that, but at least they are safe now

So glad they are now safe
And it was lucky that their owner knew Belinda so when he asked if anyone wanted them she was able to pass his details on to you and Jane
Better that he wanted to give them in rather than hanging on to them any longer poor things Sad

the bunny is gorgeous :luv:

This is the norm for rescues we deal with it on a daily basis unfortunately, but as Jill as said it is alot easier when the owners want to hand them in rather than trying to convince them that they should give them in as this is when a situation can turn out horrible. I did one a few years ago where social services and contacted me to take in a house rabbit that a senile dementia woman had a house cat and was feeding it dog food. I went in and came out crying as the poor woman loved this rabbit to pieces but didn't realise (with the dementi) she was feeding it dog food. As we were bringing the rabbit away she asked me if the rabbit would know that she loved her and I said yes.

At least cats and rabbits will now get good homes and be well looked after, I bet the poor man is upset at giving his pets up Crying or Very sad

Well done you! These photos really do highlight the good that rescues do. The state that bunny's 'living area' was in is just appalling. I have seen few worse photos than that poor little thing

So glad they found their way to you, well done Snowy!

Hi, the cats are in a really poor condition, their fur is so dirty and sticky, they both had worms, fleas and eye infections, they still haven't stopped eating yet, they are really starving and thirsty, they have been to the vet and are getting treatment

Bunny is quite bright in himself, his runny bottom is just 'soft' now, I suppose it's the change in food and different water area I think, but tonight he has developed a snotty nose so we will be off to the vet again tomorrow Rolling Eyes , he is beautiful though and has settled in quite well, we are already very attached to him Embarassed Laughing

You like the name Romeo?
