How did you name your bun?
How did you name your bun.
I am trying to think of a name for my new bun and can't think of anything!
Was just wondering how other people named their buns?

Re: How did you name your bun.
As said in another post I thought tactically about the name of my rabbit.
The name of his breed opened some doors, Steve McQueen in the movie Papillion, lightening McQueen from cars. In my intro thread I explain why.

Re: How did you name your bun.
Bertie is the name of Kate Bush's son..no need to explain more My Bertie's full name is Bertie Babooshka Bush
Re: How did you name your bun.
I generally have a name in mind and just wait for the right bun to come along, I usually pick them up from films, books and mythology
Re: How did you name your bun.
i generally tend to pick names that "suit" the animal. charlie looked like a charlie etc etc.
the only one already picked was Brian. He was named in honour of the Brian I was supposed to collect who was killed by a fox the night before
Oh, and Mr B insisted on naming one of the Brunei bunch "Stu"...

Of my current bunnies, I didn't even know I knew the name Rhia really existed but it just came into my head & Rhia she was. Love it now, and it totally totally suits her! Nice girls name but not too pink and pretty, shes a right tom boy Daniel was already named, I might come round in time but a few months after adopting him I still think its so completely tragic! X

Re: How did you name your bun.
Well i decided i wanted a bun named Peanut Butter, but then i fell in love witha gorgeous black bunny... so i brought he rhome instead. The next day i went into PAH to get her some toys, and i saw Peanut, being nipped y other bunnies, and i knew he was my peanut butter.
When i got home, i realised i could have peanut butter and jelly!
With domino, i saw him in Jellys nest at 7 days old and he was white with lots of tiny little black dots, now its all merged but at that age he was all dotty.
pebbles was called MELISSA at the RSPCA, and i thought that was AWFUL. on the way home, i thought about calling her Pepper, and that name was set until i got home and my mum went 'so this is pebbles?' and i realised pebbles sounded better
xxx

Ebony is black so.. yeah. I've always thought it a pretty name though. Madison I had before I even had the bunny. Maddie suits her so so much though, she's such a cheeky girly little madam.

Re: How did you name your bun.
My little niece was having a rubbish few weeks around the same time I got my buns - she's only 11 and they had her doing SATS and all sorts, plus she has a total deadbeat for a father - so I said to cheer her up she could help me set up the buns house and name them. She had a lovely day, and despite me steering her towards Blackberry and Raspberry, I ended up with Tibbler and Nibbler!

Re: How did you name your bun.
i had the names set ageees ago
they were origionally for my dream dogs (that i will never get ), two rescued staffs, but i thought i shall name my buns them instead.
i love the name Hermione, i cant see any rabbit whos called that. also, a huge Harry Potter fan!
and Oscar, it completley suits him. i wanted a staff named oscar, but thought oscar suited my bun better, after i saw a tv programme with a dog named oscar, and it's been set ever since. Also, my favorite fish was called Oscar, but i had to change it to oscar the second lol, hes a Oscar cichlid.

Re: How did you name your bun.
I have generally always had second hand bunnies that already had a name. Lily is the only one I named and I just thought it was a beautiful name x
Re: How did you name your bun.
Rocky was Roxy but then he grew plums and I thought, well he isnt a girl but knew his name so went for the first thing that sounded like Roxy for a boy! It suits him though!!
Jive, Stephen named coz of Jive Bunny, "come on everybody..."
Lucy because of Lucy in the sky with diamonds - Stephen loves the beatles and he came up with that one.
And Billy, well he just looked like a Billy!!
May I just add, I always wanted to name Lucy Miss Marple but Lucy suits her somehow!!! :D:D

Re: How did you name your bun.
Ours tend to have family names eg my mum and dad are Rita and Colin so we named two Rita and Colleen. Dad was really impressed!
Some names we have in mind already, other times we wait and see what the buns like. EG Elvis!! Neil wanted to use the name Elvis and it really suited him as well.
I chose other on the poll as it changes everytime!
Maria x

Re: How did you name your bun.
Bobbin was sort of named by my OH, when he came home the first thing he did was that odd but very sweet bobbing up and down they do when exploring a new place, smells etc! So the OH suggested Bobbin and I loved it :luv:
Ruby Roo was named so because I couldn't help thinking she looked like an ickle kangaroo when she came to me I added Ruby because I though it sounded sweet and for a bit of girlyness

Re: How did you name your bun.
I always give animals human names, and usually they come to me when I spend time with the animals. Nigel looked like a grumpy old man for example, and Gladys an old lady.
Dougal was already named though...

Re: How did you name your bun.
Bella's name just popped into my head when I was sat in the car when me and my mum went and fetched her - I'd met her a few days before and all weekend had been trying out names that just didn't quite work, never thought of Bella, but then in the car the name came to me and that was that.
Tarquin was named by Sooz and it suits him so much I couldn't change it - nor would I have wanted to as I think Sooz always comes up with such wonderful names and I'd have felt rotten changing it.

Re: How did you name your bun.
Well I already had Destinys name in mind when I got her. My mum and I had been watching one of those talent shows and we were talking over a brother and sister called spirit and Destiny. We came to the conclusion that they would make great pet names. And as I was getting a new bunny...so beautiful names for bunnies. Well Destiny went along beautiful with Charm and it seemed like Destiny that she came to live with me and charm. And Destiny that I had rabbits again...So it was a mix of watching tv and the name just fitting so perfectly with circumstances.
My mum and I do that. Hear names and discuss whether we like them or not, what they'd be perfect for.
As for Charm...? Totally different story. I had never planned on getting him. Never wanted another rabbit. So I never thought about a name. He was originally called Creamy, but I didn't like that name and think that a new start and a new name go hand in hand. So I wanted to change it. Only what to? So I asked for help in choosing and the name Charm came up and again it just suited his personality and the circumstances surrounding him perfectly.
