rabbit play pen
i was thinking about getting a rabbit play pen (would need to extend one )for the girls as they have full run of garden which they do love but i find that i'm like a yo yo checking on them.they even have their teas at the same time so i can sit down lol.can anybody recommend them.took rabbit run down ages ago as it was too small and they hated it.
my idea is to give them a good chunk of garden,so they don't feel that they are being held prisoners.(needs to be big enough for a run around)
would be really good to hear views and any other ideas

Re: rabbit play pen
I do the same as you i let our rabbits have full run of every where but im always checking on them as well one thing i have done is get some stakes and fit wire mesh to it to create a fence that can be just pushed in to the ground. The reason i did this is because i have a large pond at the bottem of the garden it is raised and they cant get in but they liked to chew the wires that powered every thing so i put this fence along the garden when they are out to stop going down that far hope this helps

Re: rabbit play pen
A secure run would be a good idea if its something you want so you don't need to supervise all the time
My girl Buu has this run which is secure and covered so she can be left in while im at work or need to go out
Its not a great picture It had been moved when I took this so its empty, its usually on the patio area and filled with toys and a box to hide in. It is high enough for them to binky but they can't jump out because of the lid out, it has a door, the lid panels just lift off and the whole thing folds down so I can just stack it against the fence if I need to make more room in the garden for any reason
I do have one of those pens like the one you have linked too but I really don't like it. I find all of mine have jumped straight out and Beau does nothing in there but try and lift the bottom of it up, Buu just tries to knock it over because she has done it before and knows she can get out of it Buu can easily clear the run I have just posted a picture too so I think one with a lid is better if they are going to be left unsupervised just incase they jump out or something else jumps in
Here is a photo of Buu sitting in the run to show how high they can jump if they want to
I brought mine from a pet shop but I think runs can be easily made or you can buy different sizes from places like happyhutch or rydale hutches

Re: rabbit play pen
meant to say those panels were aimed at chickens & were somewhere around £13 or £15 each I cant remember now. Then you just wire them together.
