Anyone heard of a Thrianta???
I've always thought/assumed that as Thumper is a smallish bun he had some dwarf breed in him somewhere, but I've always been smitten by the very soft texture and the colour of his fur. Someone recently asked me about his breed and when I said I didn't really know, suggested he was or was crossed with a Thrianta. I've not heard of it before so I've been having a look around the internet, and he does seem to fit the bill. See here.
I don't care whether he is or not because he's my very special little bun whatever his background, but I'd not heard of it before and wondered whether anyone else had?
Here's a better picture of Thumper and his colouring

They do seem very similar Never hear of that breed Lynne, I've looked in my book (which is by no means complete) and not in there, but what a stage name:- Thumper Thrianta - darling
What a gorgeous picture of him, he's sooo beautiful How's he doing with his tummy probs?

I love that, Thumper Thrianta, sounds very posh (unlike him ) I'd never heard of it as a breed either.
He's much improved now thanks. Paula is certain that his problems were due to his one kidney effectively dying off. But now he's a different rabbit, we've put a carpet down for when they are indoors as well so they run round the conservatory like the pair of hooligans they are, he's binkying as well so I know he's happier. He's always eating now, which is really good, before I'd only see him pick at his food. He's not needed a dental since either, so I think the fact he's eating better is helping to keep his teeth down. It is so nice to go out and not be worring if he's going to be ill when I get back. Thanks for asking

Re: Anyone heard of a Thrianta???
He's gorgeous! I've seen a couple at rabbit shows, they're a stunning colour
Re: Anyone heard of a Thrianta???
Chloe who runs Fat Fluffs rescue owns a purebreed Thrianta, I think he's called Ginger . I've seen him in quite a few of her pictures and he is a stunner....much like Thumper .
Re: Anyone heard of a Thrianta???
He does look very like the bun in the picture. He is such a lovely colour and now he's a superbun! Hope he doesn't have a Naomi temper to match his supermodel looks.

Fortunately he's quite a laid back bun and doesn't tend to get stropy. he leaves that to Ruby!!!!

We saw Ginger at the open day they had recently and we said when we saw him that he was an absolute double of Thumper except Thumper's a bit smaller. Maybe I know why now

I'm so glad to hear it. I know what it's like living with a persistently unwell bun, you must all feel so relieved, and it's great to see them come back to life Really good news

I'm not suprised, they are extremely rare
Re: Anyone heard of a Thrianta???
Better not let Thumper know or he might get ideas above his bunny station!

He might try, but Ruby will soon put him back in his place!!!!!!! She definitely wears the trousers in that relationship.

He's stunning!
Like Sooz said, the only Thrianta I've heard of is Chloe's Ginger. I hadn't heard of them before I saw her mention the breed.
