I'm not happy!!
Actually, thats an understatement. I have just got in from the vets with Dylan, who isn't so chirpy today because shes sneezing & sneezing and all nasaly, Shes fed up of wiping her nose. Bless her heart. The vets answer? To leave it until its worse, so we can see whether or not medicine works?!! Im fuming, the most shes been given is a week of baytril. And shes getting worse, I even SAID it was too inconsistant to do that. AFTER I'd convinced him it wasnt mouldy hay giving her the snots!!!

Re: I'm not happy!!
That is totally ridiculous, for Baytril to even have a chance of working your looking at a 6 week course minimum and then you're unlikely to see a change for at least the first 2 weeks!!! That said it often won't be the right antibiotic anyway.
Is the discharge clear or whitish Becki...
I think you should seek a second opinion personally.

Re: I'm not happy!!
The discharge is thick & white. I dont know how much there actually is as shes real quick to wipe her nose, I just feel so sorry for her because it is quite obviously making her feel a bit rubbish, and you can sometimes hear her breathing is all snuffley. Vanessa, She hasn't even been given abx - Shes had two courses (The last being 5 days long) but not for well over a month. I'm going to look at taking her to Ashleigh in Manchester, Not sure if they take normal appointments opposed to referals but they were brilliant with Rhia - she literally owes her life to them. Im certainly not going to sit and watch Dylan get more & more poorly when I could be trying to do something about it. I also want her teeth properly checking by someone who actually knows there stuff, instead of someone who believes they do - as he keeps mentioning she has spurs but doesn't want to do anything about it as they aren't cutting into her mouth & don't seem to be causing discomfort. Prevention better than cure, No? Durrr!

Re: I'm not happy!!
Good luck Becki, and poor Rhia, *nose rubs to her*
IIRC Ashleigh to take normal appointments as I think they are who the rspca use and that Eddie's been there when I've been at uni one time.

Re: I'm not happy!!
Hope she is ok. Brian is going through a similar thing at the moment. We have had a culture and sensitivity test done which proved to be pasturella. He is on Depocillen jabs every other day and baytril. hugs x
