Help me, I don't understand this
Early this year, when looking for a French Lop, I visited a young woman who had two females and two males, one male was their "housebunny", he was allowed inside every evening and watched tv with the couple. She told me he was the sweetest bun on earth.
Now last Saturday I met her again, because I was looking for a new friend for Matisse and as it happened, she had a female of 16 weeks old.
She then told me she had sold ALL her buns, including her housebun, because she wanted to specialize in breeding a different colour
Sorry I cannot understand this, or am I stupid or/and naïve???

Sadly some people don't see bunnies for their true worth. They only see their worth in money.
I feel grieved for the bunnies involved

That is unbelieveable, showed how much she really cared and also makes you wonder if she was telling the truth Poor Bunnies. I hate people who treat them as a commodity.
Re: Help me, I don't understand this
I don't understand how people do this either. I don't see my bunnies as a commodity to be traded, I appreciate them for the wonderful little characters they are.
It makes me really sad that people can sell supposedly loved pets.

Re: Help me, I don't understand this
When you think about it, it's really strange. It's just like "I always made green shoes, but now I sold my stock and changed to pink ones" Maybe she found out blue bunnies are not high fashion anymore, she bought one havanna coloured and now she has bought some more and wants to breed that colour. So she says "you cannot keep all"
But why sell your cute home bun?
While browsing for French lop colours, I came upon an ad of a 16 year old that was selling her bun because she could not take him to shows because of his ears !
She said she absolutely adored him....

Re: Help me, I don't understand this
i have met people like this before with all sorts of animals and we get a lot of animals at RSPCA from homes like that - is so strange but people must not get attached or something.
