Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
Hi Sooz
I did send you a PM on Tues about arrangements for picking up George. Just need to know postcode and times so I can co-ordinate things to ensure I am there before you. Hope that is OK.
I hope little George has a stress free journey too - it's a Very Long Way for a little bunny to travel.

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
It all seems to be coming together. Am very excited. Only three sleeps to go
Was chatting to a friend earlier - probably boring him with details of George - and as he isn't doing anything on Sunday and his car is much bigger and newer than mine (mine only has two seats) he is going to come with me. That will mean I don't have to drive and navigate and I get to keep an eye on George and reassure him if necessary on the way home. Result!!!

I haven't been on the forum for ages now. Just needed to say how lovely this little story is ending, I've been sitting with tears in my eyes, hoping it all worked out for the gorgeous boy!
I'm so pleased it has and I'm sure he will be very happy in his new home. Please keep us updated!

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
I promise I will keep everyone updated. I am hopeless with technology though and still have dial-up on my pc. I don't know how to load photos but will try really hard to find out as I love the avatars you all have and your pictures at the bottom of your posts. It would be great to put photos of my fur babies on here, especially George.
George will start his long journey tomorrow. Katieb has kindly invited me to her house on Saturday to meet Daisy bun and see her house bunny set up so I am going to take a notebook and listen Very Carefully to Katie and Daisy so that George is as happy as I can make him. He has had such a tough time I am going to make sure he never feels scared and lonely ever again.
My eldest cat, Mogling, who is 13, was a rescue from RSPCA and had a bad time before I rehomed her. She mothers everything - including me - so I am hoping that eventually George will learn to trust her and they will get on well.

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
George should be starting his journey today. I have been to PAH and bought a blue litter tray, blue water bottle and blue blanket for him and a silver food dish. I also got some willow sticks for him to chew. I have pellets and veg and cat litter anyway for the outdoor bunnies and cats. He has a ball that I can put treats in to amuse him and a Very Large Box I struggled home with today. I had to drive in the pouring rain with my window open as it wouldn't fit otherwise.
I have started a new thread about getting him a playpen. For now he will have the run that I used for Justin.
Not long to go now!!!

That is wonderful. I am so excited for you both. It is good that Katie is obviously not too far from you so you have a buddy to check in with - although don't leave your handbag where it can be nibbled!

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
Yes, I am really pleased to have met Katie. None of my friends would hurt a bunny but they really don't understand why I like them so much and get bored if I talk 'bunny'. Katie not only doesn't get bored but talks 'bunny' back - bliss

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
I'm delighted for you that this has worked out - you must be so excited. I felt for you so much after what happened with Justin.
Can't wait to hear updates about how George is getting on in his new home. He is going to be a much loved bunny I think!
EDIT - there are step-by-step instructions of how to add photos on this page -
https://happyhoppers.forumotion.co.uk/photoshoots-f6/how-to-post-images-t14.htm
You'll need to set up an account with Photobucket or a similar site which will host your photos, and they can be uploaded to the forum from there. Just give one of us a shout if you get stuck!

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
Thanks Rosie. Yes, losing Justin was awful and I miss him a lot. I did talk to him when I was driving back from rescue with his little body and I said I may rescue another bun in the future and it wouldn't mean I didn't love him or that I had forgotten him. Justin was such a generous, good natured chap I think he will be smiling down from the Bridge, encouraging George to get into all sorts of mischief.
Justin was a white lop so is very different from George which I am pleased about.
I will have a go with the photos. I don't yet know how to get them from my camera onto my PC - I really am in the dark ages where that sort of thing is concerned.
I am going to take a photo of George in his playpen on my mobile and will send it to Angie so she can see George has arrived and is happy. I know how I felt when I had kittens and two of them went to their new home - I cried for ages afterwards - and I still see them regularly and talk to them on the 'phone as they went to my best friend.
I will start a separate 'George' thread on Sunday. I hope he is happy and sleeping soundly at Sooz. Only two sleeps to go now

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
He's quite happily set up in my bedroom at the moment, happy flopping like a pro. He is quite the gorgeous bunster, he even had hubs feeding him SS though the bars when he was getting ready for work this morning....hubs NEVER feeds the buns unless I am away and even then it is under protest!
Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
Rhianna came round today to meet daisy - who promptly embarrased me and disgraced himself. He waited until after Id been proudly bragging that he always used his litter tray and never has any accidents before having a massive wee in the corner of the living room - then having been evicted from the living room for this naughty behavour, started repeatedly stamping his feet in annoyance of his eviction! So Rhianna........what did you learn from me today???? Dont spoil your rabbit of he turns into a demon!!!

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
I learned what a wonderful set-up Daisy has - soooooo much space. I wanted to move in too
It was very clear to me who ruled the household though - and it wasn't Katie or her lovely husband, it was a tiny (and I can't believe just how tiny Daisy is) grey bunny with big attitude!
I did get one quick stroke of his head when I lay prone on the floor while Katie was making me a drink, but that is all Daisy would allow! He did very kindly donate some toys for George which I am sure George will appreciate.
I think that just maybe Daisy is a tiny bit spoilt and has both Katie and her husband wrapped around his tiny paws.
George will not be like that - George is going to be an angel. Delusion is a wonderful state to be in. I am happy here!!!
Thank you for reassuring me Sooz - sorry to text you but I kept wondering if he had got to you and if all was going to plan.
I am trying to cut a hole in a cardboard box so I can put a tube in it to make him a proper den but the cardboard is incredibly tough. The tube was one of those my outdoor buns have so is covered in mud - most of which has transferred to my shower-room now!!
Trying to make George's run look homely and inviting.
Looking forward to meeting Sooz and George tomorrow and showing George his forever home.
Am very excited

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
Well, George's run is almost ready.
I've put a rug down which covers most of it so his paws won't slip. I've managed to make a hole in the side of a huge box and put one of those green tubes in the end so he can crawl through the tunnel into his own 'burrow' where there is a blanket and a hay nest.
On one side of the run I have hung a wooden chew toy donated by Daisy B and there are other toys scattered around. His litter tray (blue) is in one corner and I will put his water bottle (blue) and his food in the other corner, along with some more hay.
The run is in the lounge and I won't let the cats in unsupervised for a while. Once he is in the box the cats couldn't reach him anyway as they are too big to go down the tube. He will be totally enclosed and dark in there so hopefully will feel safe and secure.
One he gets used to his run I will introduce him to the kitchen and hallway where he will be going free range eventually. I am going to get a bigger run as this one doesn't look very nice, but it will do for now. George will have room to bounce, but still be cosy.
I just hope I haven't forgotten anything important. His run does look nice and homely. I hope he is OK with having a box as a bed but it is a very solid one and will take him ages to chew.
I am so looking forward to introducing him to his new forever home. Hopefully, he will soon settle in and start wrecking things!!!

Re: GUY..lovely single bun looking for love
George has a home now nicolae. He moved in with me today - or yesterday I guess as it has gone midnight
I don't know how anyone could leave him behind either but he has certainly settled in with me. Considering what he has been through he is one very laid back bun. How forgiving animals are. It would have been understandable if he hated humans, but he is just full of curiousity and seems to be lapping up his new adventure.
He really is gorgeous george!!

I think that instances like this are just wonderful examples of what can be achieved when people all have the same good intentions.
It's been so lovely to read, and to see such a happy outcome for George and Rhianna.
