bunny breaks water bottles... Empty bunny breaks water bottles...

Post by Lottie Wed Jan 27, 2010 11:22 am

I'm getting tired of this, Chewy has always hated water bottles, and if the water doesnt drip in his mouth fast enought he pulls on the metalic part of the bottle until it breaks, then the little metal balls in the botle get lost in the cage, there is water everywhere and everything stinks...
He does this almost everyday, and all i can do is fix the bottle until he breaks it again.
I have tried lots of diferent types of water bottles, he manages to break all of them.
I tried putting water in a bowl, but Kenzo has the bad habit to put his front feet in food bowls when he eats, and obviously, when he puts his paws in the water bowl he spreads water everywhere...
So I'm not sure what to do.
Has anyone had this problem before? HBWS

Could you get one of those non-tip, non-spill bowls they have for dogs thathave a lip around the edge, that should stop them putting their paws in the water.

There are also bowls that hang on the cage (I can't remember what kind of cage you have).

Hi
Before rushing out to buy a bowl in the kitchen do you have a heavy-ish fairly deep (about 5cm deep) oven proof earthware dish....I have an oval one and have found if I use this for Fudge's water he doesn't paddle as much and with being 'heavy' doesn't get tipped.....

may be worth a try before purchasing a bowl that he won't use...

@ ElleyMay: I have both a hutch and an indoor cage with bars (they live in the indoor cage now) I had one of the those bowls that is fixed on the cage bars, but it always falls...

@ FudgesMummy: I have one like that, and its oval too! The problem is the bunns dont move it or tip it, they just put their feet inside it and Kenzo plays with the water, so he spills it all over the place...

I need a bowl where they cant put their feet in.
