Noises Bunnies Make Empty Noises Bunnies Make

Post by Magoo Fri Mar 19, 2010 9:45 pm

Pippin and I were just enjoying some cuddle time on the floor and he started to make a strange noise. It was like a hum or buzz type sound. Quite difficult to describe. Like the noise we make by saying 'hm' with our mouths closed. A short buzz that was like 'hm. hm. hm'. I've never heard it before. We were just laying there and he got up quickly and started to frolick as bunnies do and he would stand up on his hind legs and hop around me completely happy but while making this noise. He would sit still and let me rub his nose and then he would be silent but when I stopped he would jump up and hop arond me again making this noise.

I know that some noises can mean he is in pain with his teeth or something. Like purring but I've heard a rabbit purr before beause Mr. Magoo used to do it (not the loud painful sounding purr but a soft purr when I used to rub behind his ears). This wasn't a purring noise. Just a low dull hum and as I said, he seemed perfectly happy and still is hopping around happily. Does anyone know what this noise means? Thanks in advance Smile xx

Pippin isn't castrated is he?

If he isn't then the buzzing noise is in an indication that love is in the air and he is ready for some action Laughing Circling you is another indication.

If you are very lucky he may spray you or even hump your leg Thumbs Up

Bunny buzzing is a gorgeous sound Smile

He is in love! When I sat down with him he started to hop around me, stopping ocassionally for a nibble (from him not me) and left a little ring of poo around me Love I'm honoured.

He's only 12 weeks (approx) isn't that a little early for him to be feeling that way? I was expecting another month before he would be ready to be castrated.

I haven't noticed. I'll check tomorrow though I doubt he'll let me. I'll also watch for any other 'growing up' type behaviour.

I feel so special now, that's totally made my week Very Happy

I think my husband is jealous Laughing it wouldn't surprise me if hubby starts dancing around me and buzzing. Tho I def will not tolerate the spraying from him!

Maybe it's not always a physical thing. Cos Pippin is only 12 weeks old (altho he could be older) and his plus havent dropped yet. Maybe Fudge is just completely madly in love with you Love
