Lost bunny Empty Lost bunny

Post by KathyT Mon Apr 26, 2010 2:39 pm

I just went outside to top up Peter and Tibb's hay, and Tibbs is gone!!! Shocked There's a tiny scrape, not even a proper hole, between the wire floor panels but it barely looks big enough to let Peter through, let alone Tibbs. I can't see how she can have got through that.

I don't know what to do. They were fine last night, and I assume they were okay when my FIL gave them their food this morning, or he'd have said something. I'm in on my own and LPM isn't well so I can't even go out and look for her. I've looked round the garden and in some nearby hidey holes, but there's so many cats and dogs round here I can't see that there's much hope. What am I going to do? My baby bun.... Oh no Shocked Poor Tibbs, I'm sure she'll come back, it's happened to a couple of people, RachelD being one. I'd maybe give it 24 hours before you print out any leaflets, or start calling rescues/vets. If she's hungry, she'll most likely come back, if not, we'll start a task force tomorrow. I'll make you a leaflet to put up, if you like, and you can ring around, can your FIL go look for her?

Hugs Kathy, try not to worry too much just yet x

I'm desperate to get out and look for her but I can't leave Jack. He's asleep now but I don't want to leave him. Last time she wandered off she was in the orchard and I'm just praying that's where she's gone this time, and that my cats are too old and fat and toothless to hurt her.

I really hope she comes back soon, if she's done it before, maybe she'll be back this time too.

Sending lots of homing vibes for Tibbs Hugs

Oh Kathy, what a worry. You must be frantic, I remember when my trio got out, thankfully they are all too lazy to wander off and came back at the first hint of food. Would she recognise a rattle of a food tin or something? How tame is she?

Quite often they do come back of their own accord. I hope she makes it back safely. Hugs

thank god, thank god, she's back and safe. We found her by the road - actually I didn't find her at all. Quick relay of a conversation between my FIL and BIL as they drove home:

Nick: You don't see many black and white rabbits round here do you?
James: No, I've never seen one before. Except Kathy's.

Thank goodness for that. I really felt for you. My lot have escaped a few times but have never left the back garden. It is the most amazingly gut wrenching feeling. Hugs to you. xx

They are a bit of a comedy double act those too. Apparently she was just sitting by the side of the road, stretching up to eat primroses from the hedgebank.... pale Only about ten yards down the lane, but OMG!!!!

She'll probably keep doing it. I was so relieved to see her last night I gave her a massive bunch of M&S coriander I was going to use in a curry tonight. Now she'll think, hmm escape=nomnomnomnom.....
