Willow
Our beautiful Will has gone to the Bridge, Willow came in to the rescue 3 years ago, she was rescued from a small 30 inch wide x 20 inch deep hutch, she was bedded on wood shavings and when they got dirty her previous owners just added more, so much so that her head was touching the top of the hutch, when we emptied the hutch she was sharing it with 6 slugs, she spent her whole life in that dreadful hutch
We took Willow home and a couple of days after arriving she became very poorly, we nursed her day and night for 10 days until we could get her right, we just wouldn't give up on her, with the help of our wonderful vet we got her well enough to be speyed, it turned out that she had uterine cancer, but again we got her through it and she recovered very well.
Willow was with us a month short of 3 years, she was very happy here and was bonded with our very laid back Barney, they were very well suited and spent every day snuggled up together, on Friday she just didn't seem right and I took her to see Paula, we tried medication but we both knew what it was likely to be, she spent the weekend in her favourite position snuggled up to Barney, yesterday she became very tired and went to the bridge very peacefully at around 8pm, Barney was with her as well.
Sadly the post mortem confirmed our suspicions, the cancer had returned and it had spread to her liver and kidneys
We will all miss you Willow, especially Barney, you really were a very special bunny, have fun at the bridge sweetheart, go and play in the long lush grass and look for Mack and Mabel, they will take good care of you, sleep tight xxxx

Re: Willow
Sorry for your loss Theo. You gave her three rich years of happiness and contentment that hopefully made up for the time she was neglected. She is at peace and out of pain and sitting in a hutch neglected dying on her own and in torment.
