Is he destined to be a fatty ?!
Domino lives in a 6 x 4 shed, with a 10 x 5 run permanently attatched with access 24 hours. He gets one large handful of pellets to share between three (stingy mummy!). He doesnt get any treats anymore at all as in shop treats. they get alot of forage, dried leaves etc, and so much hay.
The run is always changed around to make it new and interesting so he will explore, and i often hide pellets in their huge wicker basket full of hay so he will forage rather than scoff out of a bowl. they also get branches of apple secured into the run from the roof so they have to work to pull it down etc so he gets LOADS "to do". Yet today at his VHD jab, he has gained even MORE weight.
He is now 2.9Kg. considering peanut used to weigh 2.3 when he was alive, and jelly is 2.5. So he is bigger than both his parents. He is just huge.
Nicole the vet was laughing saying he is obviously just lazy, and checked his heart thoroughly to check theres not any reason why he doesnt exercise, and its fine.
anyone got any suggestions? Or am i destined to have a fatty bun bun forever?!

Re: Is he destined to be a fatty ?!
Yep. Gloria is exactly the same. She eats like a horse and the only way to get her to move fast is to give her a fright or offer her food. She is still a little nervy and will shoot off like a rocket if you across her without her spotting you.
Other than that it is eat, sleep, poo - in that order.
I reckon she is just big boned!!!

I laughed so hard at this, Bruce is EXACTLY the same. Even when I let them out into the house or garden, he'll run to his favourite sleeping spot, and spend the entire day sleeping. While Josephine will run about and explore.
I think there's not much you can do other than removing everything but hay from his diet. I tried that for about a week with Bruce, i think maybe he lost some weight, but then Josephine lost weight (and she's already slim) and the guilt trip got too much so I stopped that.
It makes me wonder how people manage to have starving bunnies... do they never feed them at all?!
