Benji
Benji sadly had to be put to sleep yesterday after several months of ill-health. He was only a baby, not even a year old.
He was left in a box along with his mum and siblings on the doorstep of a rescue in Edinburgh on Christmas Eve 2009. Thankfully, they were found and were taken into the rescue. They were fostered by a lovely lady who showed them love and kindness and gave them a good start in life. Thank you Debbie, we'll always appreciate what you did for them.
We saw Benji (who was originally called Chestnut) with his brother Paddy on another forum and fell for them instantly.
They came to live with us on 28th February this year, and sadly it was only a matter of weeks until he began showing signs of ill-health.
Benji sweetheart, we will miss you terribly. You were such a delicate, gentle little bun, always ready for a cuddle. I'm so sorry we couldn't heal your pain. We tried our hardest, but it wasn't to be.
You were a happy little soul - every afternoon you would find your favourite sunny spot on the carpet and settle down for a doze.
You had an amazing impact on our lives and we feel so sad that we never had a Christmas, or a Gotcha Day with you. You were only with us for six and a half months, and it wasn't long enough.
Sleep tight little Benji, we will look after Paddy for you. You were a darling little bun and we'll never forget you. x

Re: Benji
So, so sorry for your loss. It's incredibly unfair that he only had six months with you, at least you were able to make his short life as special as possible

Re: Benji
What a beautiful little bun Benji was, and you've given him a lovely tribute. His life would have been so different if he hadn't found his way to you and Rob, I hope you get some comfort from knowing that you did everything you could, but the biggest thing you did was love him, lots.
It seems so unfair Have fun at the bridge with Rosie, little Benji, sleep tight xxx

Re: Benji
Poor little Benji. Your short life was ultimately a happy and contented one. From being a bun dumped on a doorstep with an uncertain future, to being a loved and cherished guy for whom everything was done by your owners.
I am so sorry that you just weren't meant to be an old bun but now you are at peace and out of pain. xx

Helen, I am so sorry that you have lost Benji. It seems so unfair
I am so glad he made his way to you and Rob though and enjoyed the sunshine - my favourite photos include those of Benji and Paddy flopped out.
