Is this a lucky bunny or what?

Got called out to an emergency rescue tonight, this bunny escaped from the live meat lorry and ran into some nearby bushes, this happened on the main road, a lady saw it happen but being as she was over 80 years old she couldn't chase the bunny so she went and got a gentleman friend to help her, when he got there the bunny was soaking wet and surrounded by crows pecking at him but they managed to catch him and took him home, they dried him off and then called us, he is a bit thin and has a few nicks on him but apart from that I think he is one very, very lucky bunny

What the hell is a live meat lorry? I assume something that transports living 'meat'? Wont that be cruel as hell?

Whys the bunny wabbit look all cute and 'pet' like? Thought they used bigger breeds for fur & meat?

Possibly that is where all the animals that don't sell in pet shops go. I really hope not.

Yes,what is a live meat lorry? I assume it was going to the slaughter house, but wouldn't it be full of pigs or something? Surely not full of rabbits or other pets??????

He's a lovely looking bun, not usually fond of lops but he is a cutie. Lucky bunny that he escaped and was found, not so lucky he ended up in a meat lorry.

What an amazing story. We have a rabbit meat farm in Victoria and a few local activists raid it and save 3-4 bunnies each time... but that doesn't save all of the other bunnies in the farm.

They're all domesticated bunnies, just like our pet ones. It scares the hell out of me.

The animals are sold at markets. Depending on where you live will depend on if you see on or not, but it is legal. They tend to be more of a pick-up truck than a lorry.

Ah, I've never witnessed it before around where I live. I suppose it seems logical it would happen, seeing as people eat rabbit meat and the same business goes on with cows, pigs, chickens etc.
Makes me consider more to going veggie...
